COMLEX scores, score release dates and percentiles
COMLEX score release dates are tied to testing windows: NBOME releases Level 1 and Level 2-CE results within two to six weeks after the window ends, and Level 3 results eight to ten weeks after. Scores come out by 5:00 PM Central time on the release date. Level 1 is pass/fail; Level 2-CE and Level 3 give a three-digit score, with 400 and 350 as the passing marks.

How the COMLEX score release works
NBOME does not release scores on a fixed number of days after your own test. Every testing window has one score release date, and your result arrives on the release date of the window in which you tested. NBOME notes that the dates can change depending on candidate scheduling and other variables.
What time do COMLEX scores come out? NBOME states that, barring unforeseen circumstances, scores are released by 5:00 PM Central time, and its FAQ says they typically come out before 5 pm CT on the release date.

COMLEX Level 1 score release dates
The COMLEX Level 1 score release follows these windows in the 2026-2027 cycle (window, then release date). Level 1 results are reported as pass or fail with a formative performance profile.
- August 28 to September 23, 2026: October 6, 2026
- September 24 to October 23, 2026: November 5, 2026
- October 24 to November 25, 2026: December 8, 2026
- November 26 to December 31, 2026: January 12, 2027
- January 2 to January 27, 2027: February 9, 2027
- January 28 to March 5, 2027: March 23, 2027
- March 6 to April 10, 2027: April 22, 2027

COMLEX Level 2 score release dates
The COMLEX Level 2 score release date for the 2026-2027 cycle depends on your Level 2-CE window. Remaining windows from September 2026 onward:
- September 10 to October 9, 2026: October 22, 2026
- October 10 to November 10, 2026: November 24, 2026
- November 12 to December 4, 2026: December 17, 2026
- December 5, 2026 to January 8, 2027: January 21, 2027
- January 9 to February 12, 2027: February 25, 2027
- February 13 to March 17, 2027: March 30, 2027
- March 18 to April 24, 2027: May 6, 2027

COMLEX Level 3 score release dates
The COMLEX Level 3 score release takes longer: eight to ten weeks after the end of the window. Level 3 also has registration deadlines per window, so check both dates. The January 2027 window is the first with the new one-day format.

What a COMLEX score means
A COMLEX score is a three-digit standard score, not a raw score and not a percentage of questions answered correctly. NBOME converts performance to this scale to make its pass/fail decision, and the minimum stays the same regardless of when you test: 400 for Level 2-CE and 350 for Level 3.
Your COMLEX Level 2 score is judged on the total exam only. The standard is criterion-based, so there is no fixed share of candidates who must fail, and weak performance in one content area does not by itself cause a fail. Level 1 has no numeric score at all.

COMLEX score percentiles
NBOME’s percentile converter turns a three-digit score into a percentile for your cohort: all candidates testing in the same cycle. That is why COMLEX Level 2 score percentiles can shift between cycles. For the 2026-2027 cycle, interim Level 2-CE percentiles became available after August 25, 2026 and are preliminary.
Level 1 percentile conversions exist only up to the 2021-2022 cycle, because Level 1 has reported pass/fail only since May 10, 2022.

COMLEX Level 3 pass rate
NBOME reports the COMLEX Level 3 pass rate per testing cycle on its Examination Performance Data page; the Level 3 cycle typically runs January to December, and the data is updated after each cycle ends. The tables are provided as linked spreadsheets that we could not read on the pages checked, so we do not quote a figure here.
