PL-200 certification: retired on 31 August 2026
The Microsoft PL-200 certification — Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate — is retired. Microsoft retired the certification, the PL-200 exam and its renewal assessments on 31 August 2026, so it can no longer be earned or renewed. Microsoft names Intelligent Applications Builder Associate (exam AB-410), available since 30 July 2026, as its replacement. If you already hold PL-200, it stays on your Microsoft Learn transcript.

Is the PL-200 certification retired?
Yes. Microsoft’s certification page states that the certification, the related exam and the renewal assessments were retired on 31 August 2026, and that you can no longer earn or renew the certification after that date. The PL-200 study guide gives the exact time: 11:59 PM Central Standard Time.
That means the PL-200 exam can no longer be booked or taken. If you were planning to sit it, the path has moved to its successor. If you passed it before the retirement, nothing is taken away: Microsoft states that an earned certification stays on the transcript in your Microsoft Learn profile.

What replaced PL-200?
Microsoft’s Partner Center announcements for August 2026 state that Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate (PL-200) was replaced by Intelligent Applications Builder Associate (AB-410), available as of 30 July 2026. Both are intermediate-level Microsoft certifications built on Power Platform.
The focus shifts. Microsoft describes the AB-410 candidate as someone who builds solutions with AI in Power Platform using Microsoft Copilot, natural language prompts and low-code tools, connecting apps, data models and flows to agents and AI models. The AB-410 exam also requires a score of 700 or greater, and Microsoft offers it in 13 languages.

What was the PL-200 certification?
PL-200 was Microsoft’s intermediate certification for the functional consultant role on Power Platform. Microsoft’s study guide described candidates who perform discovery, capture requirements, engage subject matter experts and stakeholders, and configure business solutions with Power Platform tools — implementing designs in collaboration with a solution architect.
The certification page listed four assessed areas — Dataverse, Power Apps, logic and process automation, and environments — and the exam was proctored.

What the PL-200 exam covered
The final version of the PL-200 exam measured skills as of 26 December 2024, in four areas. Three carried equal weight; managing environments was the smallest.
If you studied for PL-200, compare your notes with the AB-410 study guide: both cover Power Platform apps and automation, but AB-410 is built around Copilot, agents and AI models, which the December 2024 PL-200 skills list does not name.

PL-200 passing score, price and languages
A score of 700 or greater was required to pass. Microsoft priced the exam by the country or region where it was proctored, without a single published figure, and offered it in English, Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil) and Spanish.
These details now matter only for understanding an existing PL-200 certificate. For the successor, check the AB-410 certification page, which lists the current exam’s languages and policies.

Can I still renew my PL-200 certification?
No. Microsoft associate certifications normally expire annually and are renewed with a free online assessment on Microsoft Learn. For PL-200, the renewal assessments were retired together with the exam on 31 August 2026, so renewal is no longer possible.
Microsoft’s retirement page states that an earned certification stays on your transcript and recommends renewing before a retirement date if you are eligible — after the retirement, there is no option to renew. For Microsoft Partners, certifications earned before retirement continue to count towards partner requirements for one year after the retirement date.

PL-200 practice exam, exam questions and courses
With the exam retired, a PL-200 practice exam or set of PL-200 exam questions no longer prepares you for any bookable test. Microsoft’s exam page now lists no current courses for PL-200.
If you want a Power Platform credential today, switch your study to AB-410. Microsoft lists an instructor-led training course for it, AB-410T00-A: Build intelligent applications. At the time of checking, Microsoft’s certification page said the AB-410 practice assessment was not yet available.

PL-200 dumps
PL-200 dumps still circulate, but they were never a legitimate way to prepare. Microsoft defines a brain dump as a source containing exam questions that were fraudulently obtained to share or sell, and states that using such material to prepare for or during an exam constitutes cheating.
Microsoft can permanently ban candidates who break its exam rules and revoke their certifications and scores. That applies to every Microsoft exam, including PL-200’s successor.
