PL-600 certification: retired — what it means now
The PL-600 certification is retired. Microsoft states that the Power Platform Solution Architect Expert certification, the PL-600 exam and its renewal assessment were retired on June 30, 2026, and that you can no longer earn or renew it. The PL-600 exam can no longer be booked. Microsoft does not name a direct replacement on the PL-600 pages; its current expert-level architect credential for AI business solutions is the Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect Expert (exam AB-100).

Is the PL-600 certification retired?
Yes. Microsoft’s certification page states that the certification, the related exam and the renewal assessments were retired on June 30, 2026, and that you will no longer be able to earn or renew the certification after that date. The exam page adds the exact time: 11:59 PM Central Standard Time.
So the PL-600 certification is no longer something you can work towards. There is no exam to book, and no renewal assessment to keep an existing certification alive past its expiry date.
Microsoft links the retirement to a blog post about its new AI business credentials. On the PL-600 pages themselves it does not name a direct successor exam, so this page does not claim one.

What does the retirement mean if you hold PL-600?
Microsoft role-based certifications normally run for a year and are extended by a free online renewal assessment taken in a six-month window before expiry; passing extends the certification by one year from the expiration date.
For PL-600 that route is closed: Microsoft states the renewal assessments were retired with the exam and that the certification can no longer be renewed. In practical terms, a PL-600 certification you hold now will not be extended. Check the expiry date on your Microsoft Learn profile so you know how long it stays current.
The experience behind it does not expire. If you want a current Microsoft architect credential, look at what Microsoft offers today rather than waiting for a PL-600 return.

Can you still take the PL-600 exam?
No. The PL-600 exam was retired on June 30, 2026, and Microsoft’s exam page now carries the retirement notice. Any site that still sells PL-600 exam vouchers or promises a PL-600 exam booking is not describing something Microsoft offers.
While it was offered, the PL-600 exam was priced by the country or region in which it was proctored, was available in English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish and Chinese (Simplified), and required a score of 700 or greater to pass.

What was the PL-600 certification?
Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert was the expert-level Power Platform credential. Microsoft listed developer, functional consultant and solution architect as its job roles.
The study guide described the candidate as someone with solution architecture experience across the functional and technical disciplines of Microsoft Power Platform, able to facilitate design decisions across development, configuration, integration, infrastructure, security, licensing, storage and change management, and aware of the Power Platform Well-Architected framework.
To earn it you needed the PL-600 exam plus at least one associate certification: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate or Power Platform Developer Associate.

What was on the PL-600 exam?
The last published skills outline, valid from September 23, 2024 until the retirement, had three areas. Solution envisioning and requirement analysis carried the most weight, followed by architecture and then implementation.
Those skills are still the core of Power Platform architecture work, and the study guide remains online as a reference for what Microsoft considered architect-level knowledge.

Which Microsoft architect certification is available now?
Microsoft currently offers Microsoft Certified: Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect Expert, earned with exam AB-100: Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect. Microsoft does not present it as a PL-600 replacement on either certification page, so treat it as the current option, not as a renamed PL-600.
Like PL-600, it is an expert certification that needs an associate certification as well: in addition to AB-100 you must hold at least one of the prerequisite associate certifications Microsoft lists, and Power Platform Developer Associate is among them. Its skills are planning, designing and deploying business solutions built on AI.
Two practical notes from Microsoft’s page: the English version of AB-100 is updated on October 14, 2026, and Microsoft currently lists no courses or learning paths for the certification, only the AB-100 study guide and the exam sandbox.

PL-600 study materials, course and training today
Since the exam is retired, there is no point in buying a PL-600 course or training package to prepare for it. If someone still advertises PL-600 exam training, ask what exam it prepares you for.
The PL-600 study guide on Microsoft Learn remains useful as a free outline of architect skills. If you are moving towards AB-100, study from the AB-100 study guide instead, because that is the outline the current exam is measured against.

PL-600 dumps
PL-600 dumps have no use now: the exam they claim to cover no longer exists. They were never a safe route either. Microsoft’s exam security policy defines a brain dump as a source of fraudulently obtained exam questions and states that using such material to prepare for or during an exam constitutes cheating.
Microsoft may revoke certifications and scores and ban candidates from its credential program for that kind of misconduct — which also applies to the exams that are still running, including AB-100.
