TExES exam registration, test dates and scores
TExES exam registration has three steps: get approval to test, register in your testing account on the Pearson Texas site, then schedule your appointment. Most TExES exams are offered year-round by appointment, scores arrive within 7 days for many exams and within 28 days for exams with constructed-response assignments, and you need 240 on a 100 to 300 scale to pass.

How to register for a TExES exam
You must be approved before you can register for TExES; if you are in an educator preparation program, the approval comes from your program. First-time candidates create a TEA Login (TEAL) account and get a TEA ID. Your testing account on the Pearson site is separate from your TEA account.
Pearson TExES exam registration then takes place in that testing account: you register for any exam you are approved to take and pay the fee. After registering you can schedule your appointment at any time, and you can reschedule at no fee up to 48 hours before it.

TExES ESL 154 test registration and other supplemental exams
TExES ESL 154 test registration works the same way as for any other exam: approval to test first, then registration in your testing account. ESL Supplemental (154) has 80 selected-response questions and costs $116.
Register for TExES test sessions for several exams separately; each exam has its own registration, fee, appointment and score report date.

TExES test dates and exam schedule
There are no fixed TExES test dates for most exams: they are available year-round by appointment, Monday through Saturday except some holidays, first come, first served. You choose your TExES exam dates when you schedule in your testing account.
Before you pick a date, check the score report date for that testing day so your result arrives before any program or hiring deadline.

TExES 268 test dates
Principal as Instructional Leader (268) is an exception. Pearson lists limited administrations during two-week testing periods instead of year-round appointments, so there are fewer TExES 268 test dates to choose from. The 268 exam page links to its own score reporting calendar.

TExES score report dates
TExES scores are reported within 7 days of testing for many exams and within 28 days for exams that include constructed-response assignments. Score reports become available at 10:00 p.m. Central time on the score report date, in your testing account and by email if you chose that option.
Pearson publishes TExES exam score report dates as tables by testing period. An example from the selected-response schedule: tests taken 2 to 4 March 2026 were reported on 6 March 2026. Each exam page links to the schedule that applies to it.

TExES scores and the TExES score report
TExES exam scores are reported on a scale of 100 to 300, and 240 is the minimum passing score. For Core Subjects EC–6 you need 240 on each subject exam, and the overall result shows as Passed or Not Passed.
Your TExES score report can show total test performance, performance by domain, performance by competency and holistic scores, depending on the exam. Domain and competency results are informational only; they have no passing scores of their own. TExES test scores for exams taken since 1 September 2006 stay available in your account.

Is there an official TExES EC-6 exam pass rate?
Not on the pages we checked. Pearson’s results pages and TEA’s educator testing page do not publish a TExES EC-6 exam pass rate or pass rates for other exams, so any figure you see elsewhere is not from these sources.
What is published is the bar: 240 on every subject exam. If you do not pass, you can retake after 30 days, within the limit of five attempts per exam.
