The TOEFL cost depends on where you take the test: ETS sets the TOEFL iBT fee by location and shows it once you select your testing country. In India, for example, ETS lists ₹15,729. On top come optional fees such as US$69 for rescheduling, US$49 for express registration and US$29 for each additional score report.

How much is the TOEFL test?
There is no single worldwide TOEFL test price. ETS states that the TOEFL iBT test fee varies by location, and its fee page asks you to select your testing location to see the registration fee. Prices exclude VAT or other taxes, except in EU countries.
So how much is TOEFL test registration for you, and how much does the TOEFL test cost in your country? Open the ETS fee page or start a registration in your ETS account and select your country; the amount shown there is the official fee.

TOEFL iBT test price: an example from ETS India
ETS India lists the TOEFL iBT test price as ₹15,729 for registration. On the same page, rescheduling costs ₹5,000 and a Speaking or Writing score review ₹6,694.92. These are India amounts only; other countries have their own TOEFL exam fee.
The ETS fee table for the United States was not readable on the page we checked, so this page does not state a US amount.

Extra TOEFL iBT fees
Beyond the TOEFL test fee itself, ETS lists these service fees in US dollars on its main fee page:
- Express registration (within 7 days of the test date): US$49
- Rescheduling: US$69
- Additional score reports: US$29 each
- Speaking or Writing score review: US$80; both sections: US$160
- Reinstatement of canceled scores: US$20

Rescheduling, cancelling and refunds
To reschedule or cancel, act at least 4 full days before your test date. If you cancel in time, you automatically receive a refund of 50% of the original test fee. ETS prep products are different: orders cannot be cancelled and are not refunded.
There is no limit on retakes, apart from not testing more than once in a 3-day period. ETS lists no separate retake fee on the pages we checked.

In your ETS account you can pay by credit or debit card, electronic check, PayPal or Alipay. By phone, ETS accepts card or electronic check; by mail, card only.
