Official ACAMS study materials: study guide, flashcards, practice exam
On the CAMS page, ACAMS study material for the exam is not sold separately; it comes in the package. The standard package lists an electronic study guide, online flashcards, review questions and a practice exam. The Handbook describes the package as a comprehensive study guide, flashcards and interactive materials, with practice exams through an enhanced simulation tool.
The ACAMS study guide PDF is the electronic version included in that package. Copies offered elsewhere as a free download are not from ACAMS, and you cannot tell which edition they are. Work from the version that comes with your own package.
The Handbook also mentions two elective courses included in the package that are not part of the exam blueprint. They can be useful background, but they are not where the exam questions come from.

An ACAMS certification study guide built on the domain weights
ACAMS publishes no recommended number of study hours, so plan in proportions. The Handbook gives four domains, and 60% of the exam sits in two of them.
- Understanding the risks and methods of financial crime — 30%: start here; the other domains build on it.
- Building an anti-financial crime compliance program — 30%: the second large block; tie every control back to a risk.
- Global AFC frameworks, governance, and regulations — 20%: the international standards and how they are governed.
- Tools and technologies to fight financial crime — 20%: monitoring, screening and the systems behind them.

What CAMS exam questions look like
CAMS exam questions are multiple choice and multiple selection: some items have one correct answer, others ask you to select several. With 120 questions in 3.5 hours you have 1 minute 45 seconds per question, and there is no penalty for guessing, so answer every item.
ACAMS exam questions and ACAMS test questions in the package come in two forms: review questions to check a chapter, and the practice exam to rehearse the whole test. The practice exam is offered in ten languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic and Japanese.

ACAMS sample questions and practice tests
ACAMS’s CAMS page does not offer a free set of ACAMS sample questions to the public; the review questions and practice exam are part of the paid package. If you are looking for ACAMS exam sample questions before you buy, check that any set you use is original and follows the four domains in the current Handbook.
Use ACAMS practice tests in two ways. After each domain, a short set shows whether the material has stuck. Before you book, a full ACAMS practice exam under the 3.5-hour limit shows whether your pace holds for 120 questions. Mark multiple-selection items in your review — they are where partial knowledge is exposed.

Why “real” CAMS exam questions are a risk
Files sold as sample ACAMS exam questions from the live exam are not a study aid. Candidates agree not to discuss the content of an examination with anyone and may not record, copy or disclose its questions or answers. ACAMS says violations can lead to cancelled scores, the suspension or revocation of certifications and memberships, and legal action.
