CISA training and courses: what ISACA offers and how to choose
ISACA, which issues the CISA certification, runs its own CISA training and accredits outside training organisations to teach with original ISACA materials. No course is required to sit the exam — the CISA exam is open to anyone — so the choice is about how you learn best and how much of the five domains you already know.

ISACA CISA certification training: the official options
ISACA’s CISA page lists several routes, from self-study to taught formats:
- The CISA Online Review Course: ISACA calls it its official on-demand training course for the exam. It covers all five CISA domains in over 40 modules and gives a full year of access.
- Live instruction: ISACA points candidates who want guidance and interaction towards live, expert instruction, delivered through its certification training partners.
- Chapter events and CISA study groups on ISACA’s Engage community, for candidates who prefer to prepare with peers.
- Team training for organisations that want to train a whole audit or security department.

CISA online courses vs classroom training
A CISA online course suits candidates who already work in IS audit and need structure rather than teaching: you go at your own speed and spend longer on the domains you know least. The official CISA online training from ISACA is on demand, so there are no fixed session dates.
Live CISA certification courses, online or in a classroom, suit candidates who want an instructor to explain how ISACA frames a question — why the “best” answer is often the one an independent auditor would choose, not the one an engineer would. They cost more time per week and set a pace for you.

CISA boot camp: what to check before you book
A CISA bootcamp compresses preparation into a few intensive days. ISACA itself does not list a product called a boot camp on its CISA page, and its in-person Training Week currently offers workshops for AAIA, AAIR, CISM and CRISC but not for CISA. Some of ISACA’s accredited training organisations describe their own CISA courses as boot camps.
If you are looking at an ISACA CISA bootcamp, a shorter CISA exam prep course or any other intensive format, check these points first:
- Is the provider an ISACA Accredited Training Organization? ISACA says these partners passed a third-party verified accreditation process and use original ISACA materials.
- Does the course cover all five domains in proportion to their weights — 18%, 18%, 12%, 26% and 26%?
- Is the exam registration included? The CISA exam fee is US$575 for ISACA members and US$760 for non-members, and your six-month eligibility period starts when you register, so time it so the exam falls soon after the course.
- Does it include practice with feedback per domain, so you know where you stand when the course ends?

Is a CISA review course enough on its own?
A CISA review course teaches the material; it does not tell you whether you are ready. ISACA reports domain-level results only for information and gives no question-level feedback, so a failed attempt tells you little about what to fix — and every retake costs the full registration fee again.
That is why it pays to pair a CISA exam preparation course with practice questions. Certsqill is not a course: it provides expert-developed CISA practice questions with an explanation for every answer option, and a readiness score for each domain, so you can test what the course taught before you book. It comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee.

CISA course material: what ISACA sells
Alongside the online course, ISACA sells the CISA Review Manual and a questions, answers and explanations database. Any CISA certification training course you consider should tell you which of these it includes, or whether it uses its own CISA study material instead.

CISA free training: what is genuinely free
If you are searching for CISA free online training, the free item ISACA lists on its CISA page is a 10-question practice quiz on IT auditing, control and information security. The exam content outline, which lists every topic the exam covers, is also free to read on ISACA’s site and is the best starting point for planning.
Be careful with CISA online training free of charge that promises full exam content: ISACA forbids candidates from sharing or disclosing exam questions, so material claiming to contain them is either not real exam content or was obtained in breach of the rules.

CISA training & courses: questions people ask
Do I need a CISA course to take the exam?
No. ISACA states that the CISA exam is open to anyone with an interest in information security. Certification afterwards requires five or more years of relevant experience, not a course. Source: ISACA, checked 9 October 2026.
Is there an official ISACA CISA boot camp?
ISACA’s CISA page does not list a product called a boot camp, and its current Training Week has no CISA workshop. It offers an on-demand online review course and points to accredited training partners for live instruction. Checked 9 October 2026.
How long can I access ISACA’s CISA Online Review Course?
ISACA states that the course grants a full year of access. Source: ISACA online review courses page, checked 9 October 2026.
Is the exam fee included in CISA courses?
It depends on the course; check before you book. Booked directly with ISACA, the exam costs US$575 for members and US$760 for non-members. Source: ISACA, checked 9 October 2026.
Does ISACA offer corporate training for audit teams?
Yes. Among its options ISACA lists team training. CISA preparation for several employees at once runs through that route, which the CISA page links to as “Train your corporate team”. Checked 9 October 2026.
