SnowPro Advanced: Data Scientist certification (DSA-C03)
SnowPro Advanced: Data Scientist is Snowflake’s advanced, role-based certification for data scientists and AI/ML engineers who work in Snowflake. The current version is DSA-C03, released on 3 March 2025, and it covers feature engineering, model training, model lifecycle management and GenAI and LLM capabilities in Snowflake. Like every SnowPro exam it is scored 0–1000 with 750 to pass, delivered by Pearson VUE, and the certification expires after two years.

What is the SnowPro Advanced Data Scientist certification?
SnowPro Advanced: Data Scientist is one of five role-based advanced certifications in Snowflake’s SnowPro programme, alongside Architect, Data Engineer, Administrator and Data Analyst. Snowflake says it tests advanced knowledge and skills used to apply comprehensive data science principles, tools and methodologies using Snowflake.
Snowflake names data scientists and AI/ML engineers as the audience and recommends at least two years of practical data science experience with Snowflake in an enterprise environment. This is not an introduction to machine learning; it assumes you already train models and want to prove you can do it inside the Snowflake platform.

Which version of the SnowPro Data Scientist exam is current?
The current exam is DSA-C03. Snowflake’s certification page states that the new version was released on 3 March 2025, succeeding DSA-C02. The page shows no beta label and no retirement notice as of 14 October 2026.
The biggest visible change is scope: DSA-C03 lists GenAI and LLM capabilities in Snowflake as one of its tested abilities. If you prepared with material written for DSA-C02, check it against the C03 ability list below before you book.

What is on the SnowPro Advanced Data Scientist exam?
Snowflake describes DSA-C03 through seven abilities a certified candidate should have. Snowflake publishes the domain weightings in its study guide, which could not be read for this page, so the list below has no percentages:
- Outline data science concepts
- Implement Snowflake data science best practices
- Prepare data and feature engineering in Snowflake
- Train and use machine learning models
- Use data visualization to present a business case (e.g. model explainability)
- Implement model lifecycle management
- Use GenAI and LLM capabilities in Snowflake

SnowPro Advanced Data Scientist exam cost
The DSA-C03 certification page does not show a price. Snowflake’s continuing education page lists “SnowPro Advanced $375 USD” under its fees. Treat that as Snowflake’s published figure for the SnowPro Advanced level and confirm the amount you are charged during Pearson VUE registration, since taxes and currency can differ.
Each attempt is paid in full: Snowflake’s programme policies state that every exam attempt requires full payment of the exam fee. Recertification exams are cheaper; Snowflake describes them as shortened exams offered at a reduced price point.

SnowPro Advanced Data Scientist passing score and exam format
Snowflake scores all SnowPro exams on a scale of 0 to 1000, and the passing scaled score is 750. A scaled score is not a percentage of correct answers, so 750 does not mean you need exactly 75% right.
The number of questions, the question types, the time limit and the languages for DSA-C03 are published in Snowflake’s DSA-C03 FAQ and study guide. Both are blocked for automated reading, so this page gives no figures for them. Read the FAQ on learn.snowflake.com before you schedule.

SnowPro Advanced Data Scientist prerequisites
On the current certification page Snowflake lists recommended experience, not a formal prerequisite: two or more years of practical data science experience with Snowflake in an enterprise environment.
When Snowflake announced the previous update in May 2023, it stated that being SnowPro Core certified is a prerequisite for all advanced exams. Whether that rule is unchanged for DSA-C03 is not stated on the pages that could be read today, so check your eligibility when you register. Snowflake also requires every candidate to accept its Certification Terms & Conditions during registration.

How to register and take the exam
SnowPro exams are delivered through Pearson VUE. You can sit DSA-C03 at one of more than 1,000 testing centers worldwide or remotely at home with a virtual proctor.
If you do not pass, Snowflake’s policies require a seven-day wait before the next attempt, and you may take the same exam at most four times in a 12-month period. Breaking the retake policy invalidates the result, and repeat violators may be banned from the programme permanently.

How long is the SnowPro Data Scientist certification valid?
All Snowflake certifications expire two years after the credential award date. Snowflake’s continuing education programme offers ways to stay certified: earn an equivalent, complementary or higher-level certification, or complete one eligible Snowflake instructor-led training course. Role-based advanced certifications also have their own recertification exam.
Snowflake does not offer date extensions once a certification has expired, so start recertifying well before the two years are up. Passing an advanced exam also aligns your SnowPro Core status with that advanced certification’s expiry date.

Official SnowPro Data Scientist study materials
Snowflake offers an official Practice Exam: Data Scientist, which it describes as built using the same specifications and domain weightings as the live SnowPro exams. The DSA-C03 study guide sets out the domains and their weightings.
For training, Snowflake’s 2023 announcement pointed to its Data Science Training and its Snowpark DataFrame Programming Training. Hands-on work matters here: feature engineering, model training and model lifecycle management in Snowflake are hard to learn from reading alone.

SnowPro Advanced Data Scientist vs SnowPro Advanced Data Engineer
Both are SnowPro Advanced, role-based certifications and both expect years of hands-on Snowflake work. Data Engineer is about moving and shaping data: ingestion, transformation, streams and compute for pipelines. Data Scientist starts where that ends: feature engineering, training and serving models, explaining them to the business and running them through their lifecycle, now including GenAI and LLM features.
If your job is building the pipelines, Data Engineer fits. If your job is the models that consume that data, Data Scientist is the matching cert.

SnowPro Advanced Data Scientist practice questions
Certsqill’s SnowPro Advanced Data Scientist practice questions are expert-developed, and each comes with an explanation for every answer option, so you understand why one Snowflake feature fits a modelling task and another does not.
Your answers build a readiness score per exam domain, from feature engineering to model lifecycle management and GenAI, so you can see where you stand before paying for an attempt. Every plan comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee.
