HCIA-Cloud Computing is Huawei’s associate-level cert for building cloud computing with virtualization technology. Huawei’s certification brochure lists exam H13-511 with 90 minutes, English or Chinese, at Pearson VUE test centres, for US$200, and a certificate valid for three years. Those figures come from Huawei’s 2022 brochure; the latest official exam outline we found is version V5.5 from October 2023, so confirm the current version and price on Huawei Talent before you book.

What is the HCIA-Cloud Computing certification?
HCIA-Cloud Computing is the first level of Huawei’s cloud computing certification track. HCIA stands for Huawei Certified ICT Associate, the level Huawei awards to engineers who can install, configure and run ICT devices and rectify faults in a technical field.
For this cert, Huawei describes the holder as capable of collaborating in the deployment and O&M of cloud computing with virtualization technology, and says certified individuals can use virtualization technology to build cloud computing. Huawei names the audience directly: people who hope to become cloud computing engineers.
Huawei’s career certifications run on three levels — HCIA, HCIP and HCIE — and the cloud computing track follows that ladder. HCIA is the level where you prove the fundamentals before moving to senior-engineer and expert credentials.

Which version of the HCIA-Cloud Computing exam is current?
Huawei revises its exams in numbered versions. The most recent official outline we could find is the HCIA-Cloud Computing V5.5 Exam Outline, dated 31 October 2023, on Huawei’s download portal. Huawei’s talent portal only loads with JavaScript, and we could not confirm from it whether V5.5 is still the live version on 14 October 2026.
The figures on this page for price, duration and language come from Huawei’s 2022 career certification brochure. They are official, but older than the current outline. Before you book, check the version, price and language on Huawei Talent or at Pearson VUE.

How much does the HCIA-Cloud Computing exam cost?
Huawei’s 2022 brochure lists H13-511 at US$200. The same table lists the next level, HCIP-Cloud Computing (H13-527), at US$300.
Huawei has not republished that figure in a document we could load in 2026, so treat US$200 as the last official list price rather than a guaranteed current one. The price shown when you schedule at Pearson VUE is binding.

HCIA-Cloud Computing exam format
Huawei’s brochure gives the exam a duration of 90 minutes, in English or Chinese, taken at a Pearson VUE exam centre. Huawei describes its partnership with Pearson VUE as the basis for fair, global exam delivery, and test-centre rules apply: personal items are not allowed in the testing room, and the brochure asks for two valid photo IDs; photocopies are not accepted.
The number of questions, the question types and the passing score are not stated in the Huawei documents we could load. Check them in the exam outline for the version you will sit — V5.5 or its successor — before you plan your preparation.

What is on the HCIA-Cloud Computing exam?
The exam outline defines the topics and their weighting, and we could not open the V5.5 outline. Huawei’s ICT Academy catalogue describes the course that leads to the HCIA-Cloud Computing exam, “Principles and Applications of Cloud Computing”, as mainly introducing virtualization-related computing, network and storage.
That course has 28 modules over 32 lessons, half theory and half hands-on practice. Together with Huawei’s own description of the cert — deploying and operating cloud computing with virtualization technology — it shows where the focus lies. The catalogue lists the course modules under these headings:

HCIA-Cloud Computing prerequisites
Huawei does not require another certificate before HCIA-Cloud Computing. Its brochure recommends following the roadmap for learning and certification but states that no certificate is mandatory.
What Huawei does expect is background knowledge: familiarity with basic IT, with servers and the Linux operating system, and with storage basics. The ICT Academy catalogue lists the same starting point for the course: IT fundamentals, server and PC operating systems, Linux and storage.

How long is the HCIA-Cloud Computing cert valid?
Huawei’s brochure states a validity of three years for HCIA and HCIP certificates. You can extend it before it expires by passing any exam of the current certification, a higher-level exam in the same technical direction, or an exam of the same or higher level in the cloud service and platform category.
After recertification, the new validity runs for three years from the publication of the recertification result.

HCIA vs HCIP vs HCIE Cloud Computing
Huawei’s cloud computing roadmap runs from HCIA-Cloud Computing (H13-511) to HCIP-Cloud Computing (H13-527) and then to HCIE-Cloud Computing, which has a written exam (H13-531) and a lab exam (H13-536).
Huawei awards HCIP to senior engineers with rich ICT knowledge and strong experience in a technical field, and HCIE is its highest level. HCIA is the starting point: it proves you understand virtualization-based cloud computing well enough to help deploy and operate it, which is the foundation the higher levels build on.

HCIA-Cloud Computing training and study material
Huawei’s ICT Academy programme offers official training for this cert. Its course “Principles and Applications of Cloud Computing” is aimed at vocational college and undergraduate students and leads to the HCIA-Cloud Computing exam.
Whichever route you take, use the exam outline for the version you will sit as your checklist. Older study material can follow a previous version of the exam, and Huawei’s versions change content as well as numbers.
