What is the Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate certification?
Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate is Microsoft’s role-based certification for people who run Microsoft Teams. Microsoft describes the role as planning, implementing, managing and maintaining internal and external collaboration and communication solutions using Teams.
You earn the Microsoft 365 Certified Teams Administrator Associate certification by passing one exam: MS-700, Managing Microsoft Teams. There are no formal prerequisites; Microsoft expects a working knowledge of how Teams integrates into Microsoft 365 services. When people search for a Microsoft Teams administrator certification or simply a Teams administrator certification, this is the one Microsoft issues.

Is the MS-700 exam changing?
The certification is active, with no retirement announced on its Microsoft Learn page. The English version of the exam is updated on 27 October 2026. According to the change log in the study guide, the changes are minor: a few skills such as planning network settings, creating and managing teams, managing apps, and troubleshooting audio, video and client issues are adjusted, and everything else is marked as no change.
Microsoft updates the English exam first; localised versions follow about eight weeks later. If you book after 27 October in English, study against the new skills list.

MS-700 exam format and passing score
You have 100 minutes for the MS-700 exam, within 120 minutes of seat time. Microsoft does not publish the number of questions for MS-700; it states only that most of its exams contain between 40 and 60, and it does not identify question types in advance.
To pass you need a score of 700 or greater. The exam is proctored and scheduled through Pearson VUE, and you can choose online proctoring or a testing centre. It is offered in English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), German, French, Spanish and Portuguese (Brazil); if your preferred language is not available, you can request an extra 30 minutes.

What is on the MS-700 exam?
Microsoft’s study guide lists four skill areas for the exam as of 27 October 2026. Configuring and managing the Teams environment is by far the largest, at up to 45%:

How much does the MS-700 certification cost?
Microsoft prices the exam by the country or region where it is proctored. Its exam FAQ states that associate and expert exams typically cost US$165, priced according to local currency values, with additional taxes in some places. The exact price appears when you schedule.
If you fail, you pay again for a retake. Microsoft’s retake policy requires 24 hours before the second attempt and 14 days between later attempts, with at most five attempts in 12 months. Renewal, by contrast, is free.

MS-700 practice exam and practice test
Microsoft publishes a free MS-700 practice assessment on Microsoft Learn. It is free for every learner, can be taken as many times as you like, and gives an overview of the style, wording and difficulty of the questions you are likely to see. Microsoft also offers an exam sandbox to explore the exam interface.
Use the official practice assessment as your first MS-700 practice test, then build an MS-700 practice exam routine around the 40–45% environment area, where most of the score is.

MS-700 dumps and brain dump sites
Microsoft defines a brain dump as a source that contains exam questions, and states that using such material to prepare for or during an exam constitutes cheating. Its stated consequences include banning candidates and revoking scores and credentials, up to a permanent ban from future Microsoft exams.
MS-700 dumps are therefore not a shortcut but a risk to every Microsoft certification you hold. The free official practice assessment is the legitimate source of exam-style questions.

How to renew the Teams Administrator Associate certification
Microsoft associate certifications expire every 12 months. You renew at no cost by passing an online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn — no new MS-700 exam is needed, and Microsoft’s retake policy sets no attempt limit for renewal assessments.

MS-700 vs MD-102
Both are Microsoft 365 associate certifications with a single 100-minute exam. MS-700 is about Teams: the environment, teams and channels, meetings and calling, and troubleshooting. MD-102 leads to Endpoint Administrator Associate and is about managing devices and client applications with Microsoft Intune.
If your job is collaboration and voice in Teams, MS-700 fits; if it is device management, MD-102 does. Microsoft’s certification pages give no salary figures for either.
