Praxis exam: registration, test dates, scores and passing scores
Praxis test registration runs through your ETS Praxis account: you pick your test code, choose at home or a test center, then a date and time. Praxis tests are offered throughout the year. Most report a scaled score from 100 to 200, and the passing score is set by each state or agency, not by ETS.

How to register for a Praxis test
To register for a Praxis test, sign in to your Praxis account or create one, search for your test code, and choose whether to test at home (where available) or at a test center. You then pick a date and time slot and pay. Phone registration is possible too: call ETS at least four days before your test date.
During registration you choose up to four score recipients, such as your state or program, at no extra cost. Additional score reports later cost $50 each.

Praxis test dates and the Praxis exam schedule
ETS does not publish fixed Praxis test dates. Praxis tests are delivered on computer and offered throughout the year, and at-home testing is available seven days a week. When you schedule a Praxis exam, the available dates and times appear in your account for the code and location you chose.
Leave room for a retake before any deadline: a retake must be on a date at least 28 days after the previous test date.

How long is the Praxis test?
It depends on the code. Examples from the ETS study companions:
- Core Reading (5713): 85 minutes; Core Mathematics (5733): 90 minutes
- Core Writing (5723): 100 minutes, a 40-minute selected-response section and two 30-minute essay sections
- Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects (5001): 4 hours 35 minutes across four subtests
- Teaching Reading: Elementary (5205) and Speech-Language Pathology (5331): 150 minutes each

Praxis scores: unofficial score at end of test and official report
You get a Praxis unofficial score at end of test only on tests made up entirely of selected-response questions; tests with constructed-response questions show none. Before you see it, you must decide to report or cancel the score. A reported score cannot be canceled, and a canceled score is not reported and not refunded.
Official ETS Praxis scores are posted on a reporting date that depends on the test and on home or test-center delivery. ETS reports scores on Tuesdays and Fridays, shows your estimated date when you schedule, and emails you when the report is ready.

What the Praxis score report shows
The Praxis score report lists your score with the range of possible scores, whether you passed based on the score recipients you selected, the raw points available in each content category and the range of the middle 50% of scores on that test. Most Praxis test scores are on a 100 to 200 scale: ETS converts raw points, one per correct selected-response answer, into scaled scores that mean the same on every test form.
Score reports stay in your account for ten years from the reporting date. For tests with constructed-response questions you can request a score review for $65 within three months of the test date.

Praxis passing score and Praxis passing scores by state
A Praxis passing score is any score equal to or higher than the qualifying score set by the state or licensing agency. ETS does not set passing scores, and they vary by state, so there is no single passing score for Praxis.
To see Praxis passing scores by state, use the ETS passing scores page: select one or more states or agencies and the test, and it shows each qualifying score side by side.

SLP Praxis passing score
The same rule applies to Speech-Language Pathology (5331): the SLP Praxis passing score is set by each state or agency that requires the test, not by ETS. Look up the passing score on SLP Praxis for every state where you plan to apply, because the requirement can differ.
The test itself has 132 selected-response questions in 150 minutes, split evenly across three content categories.
