Six Sigma Green Belt certification requirements
The six sigma green belt certification requirements at ASQ are short. You must have worked in a full-time, paid role, and you need three years of on-the-job experience in one or more of the areas of the Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge. ASQ grants no educational waivers for this exam, so a degree does not replace any of the three years.
Note what is missing from the list: there is no training requirement, no minimum education and no completed project. The requirements for six sigma green belt certification are about practical work in the field, not about courses.

How to get a green belt certification: which one?
Before you work out how to get a green belt certification, decide which one you mean. Many organisations award a “Green Belt”, with very different rules.
