TEAS exam registration, test dates, length and scores

TEAS test registration starts with the school you are applying to: it tells you whether to test on campus, remotely with ATI, or with PSI, and you book every format through the ATI shop. The exam has 170 questions in 209 minutes of testing time, and your scores run from 0.0 to 100%, with each school setting its own requirement.

How to register for the TEAS exam

ATI TEAS exam registration has three routes: online from home, proctored by ATI or by your school; in person at a school location; or with PSI, where you pay through ATI and then schedule with PSI, in person or remote. Confirm which format your school accepts before you pay; registering for the wrong exam type is not refundable.

For ATI TEAS test registration you need an ATI account, which you also use to see results and send transcripts. Select the school you are applying to in your account so your results match your application. Accommodation requests for at-home testing with ATI are due at least 30 days before your test date.

TEAS exam registration costs and changes

The exam fee depends on the format and proctor and is shown at checkout; with ATI or PSI it is $120 plus sales tax, and registration through those two routes includes one official transcript credit. You can reschedule but not cancel. Rescheduling an exam booked on atitesting.com costs $15 and must be done at least 48 hours before the exam. Not all exam types allow rescheduling.

TEAS test schedule and testing dates

ATI does not publish one national calendar of TEAS testing dates. The ATI TEAS test dates you can choose depend on the route: you book a slot in the ATI shop for ATI or school testing, or schedule with PSI after paying through ATI. Schools that test on campus set their own sessions.

So the answer to “what are the ATI TEAS exam dates?” is whatever slots your chosen proctor shows when you book. If you plan to retake, note that ATI’s registration page says you must wait at least 48 hours after an exam before scheduling a retake through ATI, while its FAQ says ATI does not require a waiting period between attempts; your program’s attempt rules apply either way.

TEAS scores: score range and what you see

The TEAS score range is 0.0 to 100% for your total score and for each content area. The scores are based on the percentage of questions answered correctly, adjusted for differences between test forms. That makes the TEAS exam score range the same for every form, even though forms differ.

Your score report shows your total score, each content area score, how you compare nationally, your academic preparedness level (Developmental, Basic, Proficient, Advanced or Exemplary) and a list of topics to review. With ATI testing a preliminary score appears right away and becomes final after four business days; with PSI it can take up to 48 hours.

What is the average TEAS score?

ATI shows a national mean and your percentile rank in your score report, but it does not publish an average TEAS score on the public pages we checked. Any teas average score you read elsewhere is not an ATI figure for your test.

What counts in the end is your program’s requirement: ATI does not set a passing score, and each school sets its own. Look up the TEAS score your school asks for before you decide whether to retake.
