ATI’s own TEAS prep course is SmartPrep: a self-paced online tutorial that starts with a pretest, builds a custom study plan and teaches the content in 64 lessons, with 90 days of access. It costs $129 as the SmartPrep Package or comes in the $199 Comprehensive Package with practice tests and the official study guide.

SmartPrep: the ATI TEAS prep course
SmartPrep identifies your weak areas with a pretest and then guides you through a customized study plan. The content is broken into 64 lessons with short quizzes, and ATI describes the tutorial as personalized and self-paced. Access runs 90 days from activation.
The SmartPrep Package costs $129 and includes 90 days of SmartPrep and 30 days of the ATI TEAS app. It is an online, self-paced TEAS prep course, not a live class with an instructor.

ATI sells its prep as four packages. The differences are SmartPrep, the number of practice tests and whether the official study guide is included.

Is there a live TEAS prep class?
ATI’s products on the pages we checked are self-paced. ATI does mention periodic TEAS events and points to the events section of its ATI Nursing Education Facebook page for live study sessions.
If you want a TEAS test prep class with an instructor, ask your college or the program you are applying to whether it runs one. Before paying for any TEAS prep class, check that it follows ATI’s Version 7 outline of four sections and includes full-length timed practice.

How to judge a TEAS exam prep course
A TEAS exam prep course is worth its price if it covers all four sections in proportion to their weight, gives explanations for every practice question, and includes at least one full-length practice test under the real time limits. A TEAS test prep course that skips science, the largest section, or English, the fastest-paced one, leaves gaps.
Also check access length against your exam date. ATI’s SmartPrep access is 90 days; a TEAS test preparation class with a fixed schedule only helps if it ends shortly before your test.

The TEAS test for nursing program admission
ATI describes the TEAS as a test of the academic skills you will rely on in a nursing or allied health program, and programs use it in admission decisions. Before you choose a course, read what your TEAS test nursing program requirements are: the score the school wants, how many attempts it accepts and how long it accepts a score.
ATI leaves all three to the program. Each school sets its own score requirement, retake rules are set by the program you are applying to, and score acceptance is usually two years but varies.
