What is the Databricks Certified Data Analyst Associate?
The Databricks Certified Data Analyst Associate is Databricks’ associate-level certification for analysts who work in its platform. According to the official exam guide, the exam evaluates a candidate’s proficiency with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform: managing and importing data with Unity Catalog, writing and analysing queries in Databricks SQL, building dashboards and visualisations, setting up AI/BI Genie spaces and securing data.
In practice, the Databricks data analyst certification sits beside the Data Engineer Associate rather than below it. It is aimed at people who query and present data — SQL users, BI developers and analysts — rather than people who build pipelines. Databricks lists Data Analyst as one of its certification categories alongside Data Engineer, ML Engineer, Generative AI Engineer, Context Engineer and Spark Developer.
Databricks states that, going forward, there will only ever be one version of each exam, and the exam guide is the source of truth for what is currently tested. The guide in force was labelled as covering the current version as of 30 October 2025 when we checked.

How much does the Databricks data analyst associate certification cost?
The registration fee for the Databricks data analyst associate certification is US$200. That is the price of one attempt: Databricks’ certification FAQ says each attempt is charged at the same price as the original exam, and that Databricks will not issue free retake vouchers for any exam.
Reschedule early. For an online proctored exam you must reschedule more than 24 hours before the start; for a test center exam, more than 72 hours before. The FAQ says rescheduling later than that incurs a fee.
Training is a separate cost. Databricks recommends related training but does not require it, and the price depends on whether you take a self-paced or instructor-led course through Databricks Academy.

Databricks Certified Data Analyst Associate exam format
The Databricks Certified Data Analyst Associate exam has 45 scored multiple-choice questions and a time limit of 90 minutes. The exam guide notes that exams may include unscored questions used to gather statistics for future versions; they do not affect your score, and extra time is added to cover them.
No test aids are allowed. The exam is offered in English only, either online with a remote proctor or at a proctored test center. Databricks delivers its certification exams through Kryterion, and you register on Kryterion’s Webassessor platform.
Ninety minutes for 45 scored questions gives you two minutes per question. With query execution and query analysis together worth 35% of the exam, expect to spend much of that time reading SQL rather than recalling definitions.

Databricks certified data analyst passing score
Databricks does not publish a passing score for the certified data analyst exam. Its certification FAQ says passing scores are set through statistical analysis and are subject to change as exams are updated. Any percentage you see quoted elsewhere is not from Databricks.
You see an unofficial result immediately at the end of the exam. If you pass, Databricks reviews the proctor recording before it issues your digital credential. Plan for consistency across all nine domains rather than chasing a number.

What is on the Databricks Certified Data Analyst Associate exam?
Databricks publishes nine domains with their weights on the certification page. Two areas carry more than a third of the exam between them: running queries with Databricks SQL and SQL warehouses (20%) and dashboards and visualisations (16%). The newest topic, AI/BI Genie spaces, is worth 12% — more than managing data or securing data.
Small domains still matter. Importing data and data modelling are 5% each, which on a 45-question exam is only two or three questions, but those are questions you do not want to give away when the passing score is unknown.
- Executing queries using Databricks SQL and Databricks SQL Warehouses — 20%
- Creating Dashboards and Visualizations in Databricks — 16%
- Analyzing Queries — 15%
- Developing, Sharing, and Maintaining AI/BI Genie spaces — 12%
- Understanding of Databricks Data + AI Platform — 11%
- Managing Data — 8%
- Securing Data — 8%
- Importing Data — 5%
- Data Modeling with Databricks SQL — 5%

Prerequisites and recommended experience
There are no formal prerequisites. The exam guide says plainly that none is required, and the certification page adds that related training is highly recommended.
What Databricks does recommend is six months or more of hands-on experience performing the data analysis tasks outlined in the exam guide. Treat that as a realistic bar: the questions assume you have run queries on a SQL warehouse, built a dashboard and set permissions in Unity Catalog yourself, not only read about them.

Databricks data analyst training courses and study materials
The exam guide names the official training for this certification. Instructor-led, it is the course Data Analysis with Databricks. Self-paced in Databricks Academy, the same course is listed, and the guide says it will be replaced by two courses: AI/BI for Data Analysts and SQL Analytics on Databricks.
Use the exam guide itself as the syllabus. It lists the objectives under each of the nine sections, and every study plan should be checked against it. Databricks also publishes a general AI prep guide for its certifications on the certification page.
Hands-on time beats reading. Since the recommended experience is six months of real analysis work, a Databricks workspace where you can create a SQL warehouse, run and profile queries, build a dashboard and set up a Genie space is the most useful study material you can have.

Databricks certified data analyst associate dumps and exam rules
Searches for Databricks certified data analyst associate dumps lead to copies of real exam questions. Databricks’ certification terms and conditions treat the content of the exam — questions and answers — as confidential, and list as misconduct both using unauthorized materials, including brain-dump material, and disseminating actual exam content by any means, including web postings.
The consequences are spelled out: a candidate found to have engaged in misconduct loses all Databricks certifications, may be barred from taking any Databricks exam, and may be permanently barred. A dump is also a poor way to prepare: Databricks keeps one live version of each exam and updates it, so memorised items go stale while the understanding the exam tests does not.

How long is the certification valid, and how do retakes work?
The certification is valid for two years. Databricks requires recertification every two years to keep your certified status, and to recertify you must take the full exam that is currently live — there is no shorter renewal test for this certification.
If you fail, you can retake the exam as many times as you like, but you have to wait 14 days between attempts, and each attempt costs the full registration fee.

Data Analyst Associate vs Data Engineer Associate
On paper the two associate exams look alike: both have 45 scored questions in 90 minutes, both cost US$200, both are taken online or at a test center and both are valid for two years. The difference is the work they test. The Data Analyst Associate is about querying, dashboards, Genie spaces and access control in Databricks SQL; the Data Engineer Associate is about building and running data pipelines.
Languages differ too. The Data Engineer Associate is offered in English, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese and Korean, while the Data Analyst Associate is listed in English only. Pick the exam that matches your daily work; there is no requirement to take one before the other.

Databricks certified data analyst practice questions
Certsqill’s practice questions for the Databricks certified data analyst exam are expert-developed: every question explains each answer option, and a readiness score for each domain shows whether Databricks SQL, at 20% of the exam, and Genie spaces, at 12%, are ready before you pay for an attempt.
