What is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification?
PRINCE2 Practitioner — in full, PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner (Version 7) — is the advanced level of the PRINCE2 project management certification, issued by PeopleCert. Where Foundation tests that you know the method, Practitioner tests that you can apply and tailor it to a real project situation.
PeopleCert describes the skills as advanced project management, stakeholder communication and tailoring PRINCE2 to real-world contexts, and positions the certification for project management professionals.
In the path, Practitioner comes after a foundation-level credential. That does not have to be PRINCE2 Foundation: PeopleCert accepts several other project management certifications as the entry ticket, including PMP and CAPM.

How much does the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification cost?
PeopleCert sells the exam in bundles. When we checked from the United States, the self-study exam bundle was displayed at US$778.00 including VAT, a bundle with the exam voucher, Learning Resource Kit and eLearning at US$1,235.00, and the eLearning+ bundle — official eBook, interactive eLearning, auto-marked sample papers and a free exam re-take — at US$1,544.00.
PeopleCert’s pages show prices per country — its mock exam, for example, is listed “for United States” — so the figure in your currency may differ. Treat the US amounts as a reference point and check the price shown for your country at checkout.
Only the eLearning+ bundle lists a free re-take. If you buy the plain exam bundle, plan a second attempt as a separate purchase.

What is the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam format?
The exam consists of 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks in total, in an objective-testing format. You have 150 minutes.
It is open book, which is the decisive difference from Foundation. Open book does not make it easy: with 150 minutes for 70 marks there is not time to look up every answer, so the book is a tool for confirming detail, not for learning the method during the exam. PeopleCert’s page does not specify which book is permitted, so confirm that before exam day.
PeopleCert offers the exam in 14 languages — English, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Slovak and Spanish — and official results are issued within two business days.

PRINCE2 Practitioner pass mark
PeopleCert states a minimum required score to pass of 60%. On 70 marks, that means at least 42 marks.
Because the marks are spread across questions and sub-questions, a scenario you only half-understand can cost several marks at once. Preparation should therefore centre on applying the method to a scenario — deciding what to do, who decides it and why — rather than recalling definitions, which is what Foundation tests.

What is on the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?
PeopleCert lists the learning content for the Version 7 Practitioner as follows:
PeopleCert does not publish a weighting for these areas. The structure to master is the three sets of seven — principles, practices and processes — and how they are tailored together in a given project context, including the roles and people management that sit around them.
- The seven PRINCE2 principles
- The seven PRINCE2 practices
- The seven PRINCE2 processes
- Key project roles and people management
- Sustainability and ESG in project performance
- Digital and data management
- Communication and tailoring PRINCE2 to the project context

PRINCE2 Practitioner prerequisites
PeopleCert requires completion of one of the following certifications before the Practitioner exam: PRINCE2 Project Management Foundation (Version 7); PRINCE2 6th Edition Foundation or Practitioner; PRINCE2 5th Edition Foundation or Practitioner; Project Management Professional (PMP); Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM); Project Professional Qualification (PPQ); Project Management Qualification (PMQ); IPMA Levels A, B, C or D; or the Junior (CSPM-2) and Medium (CSPM-3) Project Management Professional.
Two consequences follow. A PMP or CAPM holder can go straight to the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam without taking PRINCE2 Foundation. And for PRINCE2 Foundation itself, the qualifying version is Version 7 — older PRINCE2 Foundation editions qualify too, as listed.

How long is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification valid?
PeopleCert lists PRINCE2 Project Management, including the 7th edition, among the certifications that must be renewed every three years from the original certification date.
There are two routes. Through PeopleCert Plus membership you log CPD points — 60 for this certification, logged as 20 per year over three consecutive years. Alternatively, passing another exam within the same product suite before your renewal date, or passing the same certification exam again, renews the certification.

PRINCE2 Practitioner study materials and training
The official materials come from PeopleCert: the bundles include the official eBook, a Learning Resource Kit and, in the higher tiers, interactive eLearning with auto-marked sample papers.
PeopleCert also sells an official PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner (Version 7) mock exam, described as a full, timed and marked exam arranged to give candidates a feel of the real exam, with a downloadable test report. When we checked, it was listed at US$109.00 for the United States.
PeopleCert’s page also offers a route to classroom training with an instructor at a training centre. Whatever route you choose, make sure the material is written for Version 7, since that is the version the current exam and its learning content refer to.

PRINCE2 Practitioner vs PRINCE2 Foundation
Foundation is the entry level: 60 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, closed book, 60% to pass, with no prerequisites listed. Practitioner is the application level: 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks in 150 minutes, open book, 60% to pass, and a foundation-level credential required first.
The pass mark is the same; what changes is the task. Foundation asks whether you know the method; Practitioner asks whether you can use and tailor it. That is why Practitioner gives two and a half times the time and allows the book.

PRINCE2 Practitioner practice questions
Certsqill’s PRINCE2 Practitioner practice questions carry an explanation for every option, written around applying and tailoring the method in a scenario — the skill the Practitioner exam actually marks.

What PRINCE2 Practitioner exam questions test
PRINCE2 Practitioner exam questions are objective-testing items built around a project scenario. Where Foundation asks whether you know the method, Practitioner asks whether you can apply it: which principle a decision follows, which practice an action belongs to, how to tailor a process for the situation described.
The learning outcomes PeopleCert lists are effectively the syllabus: the seven principles, the seven practices, the seven processes, key roles and responsibilities, people management and collaboration, sustainability and ESG, digital and data management, communication, and tailoring. Since the exam is open book, the challenge is less recall and more judgement — and finding the right page quickly when you need to confirm it.

Official PRINCE2 Practitioner sample exam and practice exam options
The official PRINCE2 Practitioner practice exam is PeopleCert’s mock exam: full, timed and marked papers designed to give you a feel for the real exam, offered in two versions (A and B). PeopleCert sells it separately — US$109.00 for the United States as displayed — and its eLearning+ bundle includes auto-marked sample papers.
A sensible way to use a sample PRINCE2 Practitioner exam: take the first paper early, under real time limits and with the manual next to you, to see where your scenario reasoning breaks down. Keep the second paper for the final week. In between, practise individual topics rather than repeating the same full paper — a repeated sample exam measures your memory of it, not your readiness.

PRINCE2 Practitioner dumps
Dumps that claim to contain live PRINCE2 Practitioner questions are not reliable preparation. You cannot know whether the answers are right or which edition they come from — and with Version 7 restructuring the method around practices, people and tailoring, material from older editions can lead you to the wrong answer. Scenario-based reasoning is what the exam rewards, and that only comes from working through explanations.
Looking for a PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner course?
PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner is a different qualification from the PRINCE2 7 Practitioner described on this page, and it has its own exam. A PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner course will not prepare you for PRINCE2 7 Practitioner, and the reverse is also true. Check the exam name on the course outline before you book.
Is PRINCE2 Practitioner worth it?
It is worth it if you work in organisations or tenders that ask for PRINCE2 by name, or if you lead projects and want a structured method you can actually apply. Practitioner is the level that shows you can use the method, not just describe it.
Weigh that against the entry requirement — one of the listed certifications such as PRINCE2 Foundation, PMP or CAPM — and the renewal: 60 CPD points or a new exam within three years. PeopleCert publishes no salary or pass-rate data, so we do not quote any.
