What is the Salesforce Experience Cloud Consultant certification?
It is Salesforce’s consultant credential for Experience Cloud. Trailhead describes the certified person as skilled at implementing and consulting on Experience Cloud in a customer-facing role.
The exam guide sets the experience level: candidates should have about six months of hands-on experience administering or developing on the Experience Cloud platform. On top of that, the Platform Administrator prerequisite means every candidate arrives with a certified admin foundation.
The name is unchanged. On 24 July 2026 Salesforce renamed a number of certifications to match current product names — Sales Cloud Consultant and Service Cloud Consultant, for example, became Agentforce Sales Consultant and Agentforce Service Consultant — but Experience Cloud Consultant is not on that list.

How much does the Experience Cloud Consultant exam cost?
Registration costs US$200 (JPY 30,000) and a retake costs US$100 (JPY 15,000), in both cases plus applicable taxes as required by local law.
Budget for the prerequisite too: if you do not yet hold Salesforce Platform Administrator, you have to pass that exam first, and it has its own fee.

Experience Cloud Consultant exam format and passing score
The exam has 60 multiple-choice/multiple-select questions that count towards your score, and it may include up to five unscored questions that do not affect your result. You have 105 minutes.
It is proctored, either onsite at a testing center or online. No hard-copy or online materials may be referenced during the exam.
The passing score is 62%. Because up to five unscored questions can be mixed in and are not identified, treat every question as if it counts.

What is on the Experience Cloud Consultant exam?
Salesforce publishes eight sections with fixed weights. Administration, setup and configuration is the largest single block at a quarter of the exam, and sharing, visibility and licensing adds another 17%. Together they make up 42% of the exam.
The exam guide states that questions align to the Winter ’23 release, so check the guide for updates before you rely on newer features.
- Experience Cloud Basics — 8%
- Sharing, Visibility, and Licensing — 17%
- Branding, Personalization, and Content — 15%
- Templates and Themes — 10%
- User Creation and Authentication — 13%
- Adoption and Analytics — 5%
- Administration, Setup, and Configuration — 25%
- Customization Considerations and Limitations — 7%

How to plan your study around the outline
The weights tell you where the 60 scored questions sit. Administration, setup and configuration (25%) and sharing, visibility and licensing (17%) are the heaviest pair. Those two sections deserve the most study time and the most hands-on practice in a test org.
Branding, personalisation and content (15%) and user creation and authentication (13%) come next. These are the parts a consultant deals with in every customer project: how a site looks for different audiences, and how external users are created, invited and log in.
The small sections still matter. Adoption and analytics carries 5% and customisation considerations and limitations 7%; together they are worth more than Experience Cloud basics on its own. Skipping them is a gamble you cannot calculate, because Salesforce weights the sections but does not tell you how many questions from each one you need to pass.

Experience Cloud Consultant vs Platform Administrator
The two certifications are tied together twice. Platform Administrator is the formal prerequisite, so you cannot sit the Experience Cloud Consultant exam without it. And the annual maintenance for Experience Cloud Consultant is the Platform Administrator certification maintenance badge, not a separate Experience Cloud module.
In practice that means admin fundamentals are assumed knowledge when you sit the consultant exam, and that the admin maintenance badge is part of keeping the consultant credential, too.

Prerequisites and official preparation
The one formal prerequisite is the Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator certification. Salesforce recommends a combination of hands-on experience, training course completion, Trailhead trails and self-study.
The official Trailhead resource is the Trailmix Prepare for Your Salesforce Experience Cloud Consultant Certification. The exam guide also suggests searching Salesforce Help for each topic in the outline.

How do you maintain the Experience Cloud Consultant certification?
Salesforce requires one maintenance badge per year for every certification. For Experience Cloud Consultant, the required badge is the Platform Administrator certification maintenance badge, on the Spring release cycle.
Miss the due date and the certification expires, according to the exam guide.

Experience Cloud Consultant dumps and Salesforce’s code of conduct
Salesforce has a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct related to certification exams. Its code of conduct prohibits sharing, using or selling exam content in any format — including content you memorise — with anyone else.
Sanctions include revocation of earned certifications and suspension from taking any or all certification exams for 90 days or more. On salary, Salesforce does not publish pay figures for this certification on the pages checked, so this page gives none.
