What is the MuleSoft Certified Developer Level 2?
MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 2 is the advanced MuleSoft developer certification. It is run through Salesforce’s certification programme, and its official name today is Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Developer II. Salesforce’s exam guide, its Trailhead credential page and its certification overview all use that name; the guide does not mention the old Level 2 name.
Salesforce describes MuleSoft Developer II holders as seasoned developers with proven knowledge and skills to work independently on production-ready Mule applications in a DevOps environment. Where the first-level MuleSoft Developer cert covers basic Mule 4 projects done with guidance and supervision, Developer II is about the same applications built to production standard: modular builds, monitoring, reliability and security.
Salesforce will retire 24 certifications on 1 February 2027. Among the MuleSoft credentials, only the Catalyst Consultant and the Hyperautomation Developer carry that mark. MuleSoft Developer II does not; as of 14 October 2026 it is active and bookable.

How much does the MuleSoft Developer II exam cost?
Registration costs US$200 or JPY 30,000, plus applicable taxes as required by local law. A retake costs US$100 or JPY 15,000, plus applicable taxes.
Remember the prerequisite in the budget: if you do not hold the first-level MuleSoft Developer certification yet, that exam is another US$200 registration before you can sit Developer II.

MuleSoft Certified Developer Level 2 exam format and passing score
The exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions plus up to five unscored questions, and you get 120 minutes. The unscored questions are not identified, so treat every question as scored.
The passing score is 70%, which on 60 scored questions means 42 correct answers. The questions align to the Spring ’24 release.
The exam is proctored, either onsite at a testing center or online, and no hard-copy or online materials may be referenced. Unlike in daily development, you cannot look up a connector setting or a Maven goal — you have to know it.

The objectives are concrete. MuleSoft Developer Level 2 prerequisites
You must hold the Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Developer certification, the first-level MuleSoft developer credential, before you can take Developer II. Salesforce’s first-level exam guide states that it is a required prerequisite to the Developer II certification.
Beyond the formal requirement, the guide expects experience working independently on production-ready Mule applications in a DevOps environment. Typical roles are developer and architect.

MuleSoft Developer II vs MuleSoft Developer (Level 1)
On paper the two exams look alike: both have 60 questions plus up to five unscored, 120 minutes, a 70% passing score and a US$200 fee. The difference is the level of the work. The first-level exam targets candidates with experience on basic Mule 4 projects under guidance and supervision; Developer II targets independent, production-ready work.
The Developer II outline shows the shift: it concentrates on Maven builds, monitoring, performance and reliability, and security, and takes the fundamentals of building a Mule application as given.

Official MuleSoft Developer II training
Salesforce recommends two courses for Developer II: Anypoint Platform Development: Production-Ready Development Practices (DEX660) and Anypoint Platform Development: Production-Ready Integrations (DEX670).
Whichever route you take, the outline is the checklist. Each objective describes something you can do in a real project — set up the Maven build, add health checks, configure persistence, secure properties — so build a small production-style Mule application and work through every item on it.

MuleSoft Developer II certification maintenance
Salesforce certifications are kept current with an annual maintenance badge on Trailhead. The Developer II exam guide states that you complete the Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Developer certification maintenance badge once a year; if you miss the due date, the certification expires.
The badge name in the guide matches the first-level certification, so check your Trailhead profile for the exact maintenance module assigned to your Developer II credential and its deadline.

MuleSoft Developer Level 2 dumps and exam rules

The Code of Conduct sets a zero-tolerance policy and prohibits sharing, using or selling exam content in any format, including content you memorise. Sanctions include revocation of earned certifications and suspension from all certification exams for 90 days or more.
