What is the Salesforce JavaScript Developer 1 certification?
Most people still search for the Salesforce JavaScript Developer 1 certification, but Salesforce’s credential page and exam guide now call it the Salesforce Certified JavaScript Developer. Trailhead’s study trail keeps the old name, “Study for the Salesforce JavaScript Developer I Exam”, so you will see both on official pages.
Salesforce describes certified JavaScript developers as people with experience developing front-end and/or back-end JavaScript applications for the web stack. The exam is about the language itself: types and collections, objects and classes, the browser and events, asynchronous code, server-side JavaScript and testing.
That makes it relevant for developers who build Lightning Web Components or other JavaScript on and around Salesforce, and for web developers moving into the Salesforce ecosystem.

How much does the Salesforce JavaScript Developer exam cost?
The registration fee is US$200 (JPY 30,000), and a retake costs US$100 (JPY 15,000), in both cases plus applicable taxes as required by local law.
Budget for the retake price as a possibility rather than a certainty: at a 65% passing score, a candidate who is solid on the two largest sections has a comfortable margin, while gaps there are expensive.

Salesforce JavaScript Developer exam format and passing score
The exam consists of 60 multiple-choice/multiple-select questions. Salesforce may add up to five unscored questions, which do not affect your result and are not marked, so treat every question as scored.
You have 105 minutes, and the passing score is 65%. The exam is proctored, either onsite at a testing center or in an online environment, and no hard-copy or online materials may be referenced during the exam — unlike some developer exams, there is no documentation to look things up in.

What is on the Salesforce JavaScript Developer exam?
Salesforce publishes seven sections with fixed weights. Objects, functions and classes plus variables, types and collections together make up almost half of the exam, and the browser and events section adds another 17%. Debugging, server-side JavaScript and testing are small sections, but together they still account for 22% — too much to skip.
- Variables, Types, and Collections — 23%
- Objects, Functions, and Classes — 25%
- Browser and Events — 17%
- Debugging and Error Handling — 7%
- Asynchronous Programming — 13%
- Server Side JavaScript — 8%
- Testing — 7%

Prerequisites for the JavaScript Developer certification
The exam guide lists no prerequisite. You do not need another Salesforce certification first, and you do not need to have worked on the Salesforce platform to register.
What you do need is hands-on JavaScript. The exam assumes you can read code and predict its output — how a closure captures a variable, what a promise chain resolves to, which events bubble — rather than recall definitions.

How to maintain the Salesforce JavaScript Developer certification
To keep the certification, you complete the Salesforce Certified JavaScript Developer certification maintenance badge on Trailhead once a year. If you miss the maintenance deadline, the certification expires.
Salesforce’s certification name-change FAQ also makes a point that applies to holders of renamed credentials in general: you do not have to re-earn a certification because its name changed, and the name change does not affect the underlying exam content.

Salesforce JavaScript Developer study materials
Salesforce’s own preparation is the Trailhead trail “Study for the Salesforce JavaScript Developer I Exam”. Its modules follow the exam sections: variables, collections, functions and classes; browsers, asynchronous programming and server-side JavaScript; and debugging, error handling and testing.
Use the exam guide’s section weights to plan your time and write code for every topic as you go. Because nothing can be referenced during the exam, syntax you only ever looked up will not be available when it counts.

Salesforce JavaScript Developer salary
Salesforce does not publish salary figures for this certification, and this page does not quote unverified numbers from elsewhere. The credential documents JavaScript skills for the web stack; what it is worth in pay depends on the role and the market, so compare job postings for Salesforce or Lightning Web Components developers where you want to work.
Salesforce JavaScript Developer exam dumps and exam rules
Salesforce’s Code of Conduct prohibits sharing, using or selling exam content in any format, including content someone has memorised, and bans posting exam content on forums, study sites, social media or blogs. All questions and answers remain Salesforce’s property.
Salesforce states a zero-tolerance policy. Penalties include cancelled exams, revoked certifications, removal from its credentialing programmes and a suspension from all certification exams for 90 days or more — and no refunds or vouchers in those cases. Dump material is therefore a risk to every Salesforce credential you hold, not a shortcut.
