What is the Salesforce Heroku Architect certification?
Salesforce Certified Heroku Architect is the credential for people who design solutions on Heroku, Salesforce’s platform-as-a-service. Trailhead describes certified Heroku Architects as skilled at architecting scalable solutions and deploying and managing apps on the platform.
The exam guide aims it at someone with architectural knowledge of Heroku — typically a Heroku consultant or partner — and states that candidates are not expected to know how to architect solutions on the Salesforce Lightning Platform. It is a Heroku cert first, with Salesforce integration as one of six sections.

How much does the Heroku Architect exam cost?
Registration costs US$400 (JPY 60,000) plus applicable taxes, and a retake costs US$200 (JPY 30,000) plus taxes. A failed first attempt therefore brings the total to US$600 before tax.
Keeping the cert afterwards does not mean another exam fee: Salesforce maintains it through a yearly Trailhead maintenance module.

Heroku Architect exam format and passing score
The exam has 60 multiple-choice/multiple-select questions in 105 minutes, plus up to five unscored questions that do not affect your result. The passing score is 72%, so you need at least 44 of the 60 scored questions right.
It is proctored, either at a testing centre or online, and no hard-copy or online materials may be referenced during the exam. The current guide is aligned to the Winter ’25 release.
At 105 minutes for up to 65 questions you have about 1.6 minutes per item, so there is little time to reread long questions twice.

Heroku Architect exam outline
Salesforce publishes six sections with fixed weights. Heroku Enterprise alone carries 28% — more than a quarter of the exam — so Private Spaces, Heroku Shield and Enterprise Teams deserve the most time.
Data is the second-largest section at 17%. The remaining four sections sit between 10% and 15% each, which means Salesforce integration through Heroku Connect counts as much as security or application architecture.
- Heroku Platform — 10%: building and deploying apps, scaling for traffic spikes, Elements Marketplace add-ons, buildpacks and Heroku Buttons
- Data — 17%: Heroku Postgres including follower databases, Dataclips, Apache Kafka on Heroku, Heroku Key-Value Store, add-ons and add-on sharing
- Security — 15%: architectures for compliance requirements, Private Space Peering vs VPN connections, Private Space Runtime vs Common Runtime
- Heroku Enterprise — 28%: Enterprise features, Private Spaces vs Common Runtime networking, Heroku Shield, Enterprise Teams
- Architect Applications — 15%: the Twelve-Factor App methodology, orchestrating microservices with Apache Kafka on Heroku
- Integrations — 15%: Heroku Connect architectures including External IDs, integrating with the Salesforce Lightning Platform

Heroku Architect prerequisites and experience
Salesforce lists no prerequisite certification. The exam guide describes the candidate as someone with a minimum of two years of experience and skills across the Heroku domains.
Salesforce suggests building that experience through hands-on work, training courses, Trailhead trails and self-study of the topics in the outline.
That breadth matters more than depth in one area. The outline mixes data services, network isolation, compliance and Salesforce integration, so someone who has only deployed Common Runtime apps will find the Enterprise and Security sections hard.

How do you maintain the Heroku Architect certification?
Salesforce requires one maintenance badge per year for every certification. For Heroku Architect, the current module is the Heroku Architect maintenance badge released in August 2026, due in August 2027.
If you miss the deadline, the certification expires. The maintenance module is short compared with the exam, but it is not optional.

Official Heroku Architect study resources
The exam guide points to the Trailmix “Prepare for Your Heroku Architect Certification”, to the Heroku Dev Center, and to Salesforce Help articles on the outline topics. It also recommends hands-on experience alongside training courses and Trailhead trails.
Use the six weighted sections as your checklist and read the Dev Center articles for each service they name — Private Spaces, Heroku Shield, Heroku Connect, Heroku Postgres and Apache Kafka on Heroku among them.

Heroku Architect vs Heroku Developer Accredited Professional
Salesforce also offers the Heroku Developer Accredited Professional. It is written for at least one year of Heroku development experience, has 60 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes, needs 68% to pass, and costs US$150 per attempt, including retakes.
The developer exam’s ten sections run from Heroku Platform apps and runtime (12%) and operations (12%) to security with SSL, certificates and ACM (13%), integrations with Heroku Connect, APIs and webhooks (13%), and the Twelve-Factor methodology (13%).
The Heroku Architect cert asks for two years, adds 15 minutes, raises the bar to 72% and costs US$400. Content shifts too: the developer exam spreads weight across apps, pipelines, operations and security, while the architect exam puts 28% on Heroku Enterprise and asks you to choose between architectures.

Heroku Architect dumps and Salesforce exam rules
Salesforce’s Credentialing and Certification Program Agreement prohibits sharing, using or selling exam content in any format, including content you memorise, with anyone else.
The listed consequences include revocation of earned certifications and suspension from any or all certification exams for 90 days or more. Using Heroku Architect dumps puts every Salesforce credential you hold at risk.

Heroku Architect practice questions
Certsqill’s Heroku Architect practice questions are expert-developed and weighted along Salesforce’s six sections, with the most coverage on Heroku Enterprise.
Each question comes with an explanation for every answer option, so you see why a Common Runtime design fails a compliance requirement or why Private Space Peering fits where a VPN does not. Your results build a readiness score per domain, and a 7-day money-back guarantee applies.
