ITIL 4 Foundation cost: exam voucher, bundles and fees
PeopleCert does not sell the ITIL 4 Foundation exam on its own. Every option is a bundle that contains the exam voucher, and on 9 October 2026 the cheapest bundle on PeopleCert’s page was US$690.00 including VAT. The price you see depends on your currency and region.

How much is the ITIL 4 Foundation exam?
The ITIL 4 Foundation exam cost PeopleCert charges is set by the bundle you buy. On 9 October 2026, PeopleCert’s ITIL 4 Foundation page showed three options, all including VAT:
- Exam bundle — US$690.00: exam voucher, Official eBook and Learning Resource Kit
- eLearning — US$1,029.00: everything in the exam bundle plus Interactive eLearning and auto-marked sample papers
- eLearning+ — US$1,338.00: everything in eLearning plus a free exam re-take and the Official Mock Exam

Why the ITIL certification price differs by region
PeopleCert shows prices in your local currency, and the amounts are not simple conversions. When we checked the same page on 24 September 2026 it showed €644.00 including VAT for the exam bundle, €1,349.00 for eLearning and €1,596.00 for eLearning with a mock exam. On 9 October 2026 it showed the US-dollar prices above.
This is why ITIL certification costs quoted online rarely agree. So the honest answer to “how much is the ITIL certification?” is: open PeopleCert’s page from where you will buy and read the price there. Any single number you see quoted is one region on one day.

The ITIL 4 Foundation exam voucher: what it includes
The PeopleCert ITIL 4 Foundation exam voucher is the first item in every bundle, so you never buy it separately on PeopleCert’s page. Even the cheapest option — the exam bundle — adds the Official eBook and the Learning Resource Kit to the voucher.
That makes the ITIL 4 Foundation certification exam voucher different from exam vouchers at some other vendors, where the voucher is just the right to sit the exam. With PeopleCert, the minimum purchase already includes the core study material.

ITIL 4 Foundation exam voucher: free or discounted?
PeopleCert’s ITIL 4 Foundation page shows no free voucher and no discount code as of 9 October 2026. The only free item on the page is the exam re-take included in the eLearning+ bundle.
If someone offers you an ITIL 4 Foundation exam voucher discount, check where the voucher comes from. PeopleCert sells through its own site and its Accredited Training Organisations (ATOs); a voucher from anywhere else may not be valid. If your employer pays for certifications, ask your training or HR department whether they already hold ITIL exam vouchers before paying yourself.

Extra costs: rescheduling and re-takes
The ITIL exam voucher price is not always the whole bill. PeopleCert lets you reschedule for free if you do it more than 48 hours before the start time. Between 48 and 4 hours before, the fee is USD 60, EUR 70, GBP 60, AUD 85 or JPY 6815; later than that it rises to USD 120, EUR 135, GBP 115, AUD 170 or JPY 13635, plus tax where applicable.
A failed attempt means buying again unless your bundle includes a re-take. That is the practical difference between the exam bundle and eLearning+: the free re-take and the Official Mock Exam.

ITIL v4 certification cost vs ITIL v5 certification cost
PeopleCert now sells ITIL Foundation (Version 5) alongside ITIL 4 Foundation. On 9 October 2026 the ITIL v5 certification cost on PeopleCert’s page was the same as the ITIL v4 certification cost: US$690.00 for the exam bundle, US$1,029.00 for eLearning and US$1,338.00 for eLearning+, all including VAT.
Whichever version you choose, the ITIL 4 exam cost and the Version 5 price buy the same format — 40 multiple-choice questions, 60 minutes, closed book, 65% to pass. Differences are in content and languages: ITIL 4 Foundation is offered in 12 exam languages, ITIL Foundation (Version 5) in nine. If you already hold ITIL 4 Foundation, PeopleCert offers an ITIL Foundation Bridge (Version 5), a short exam covering only the key changes.

The ongoing cost: renewal every 3 years
The ITIL 4 certification cost does not end with the exam. PeopleCert’s page lists certification renewal every 3 years, with 60 CPD points needed. PeopleCert Plus members can log those points; alternatively, passing a different exam from the same Product Suite before your renewal date also keeps the certification current.

Spending the money well
The exam is 40 questions in 60 minutes and passes at 65% — 26 correct answers. A re-take costs a full bundle unless you bought eLearning+, so the cheapest way to keep the ITIL Foundation certification cost down is to know you are ready before you book.
Certsqill’s ITIL 4 Foundation practice questions are expert-developed, explain every answer option, and give you a readiness score per area of the syllabus, backed by a 7-day money-back guarantee.
