Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant certification, now Agentforce Service Consultant
On 24 July 2026 Salesforce renamed the Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant to Salesforce Certified Agentforce Service Consultant. The exam content did not change with the name: 60 questions plus up to five unscored, 105 minutes, 78% to pass, US$200 (retake US$100), proctored online or at a test center. You need Salesforce Platform Administrator first, and existing holders keep their certification.

Service Cloud Consultant was renamed Agentforce Service Consultant
Salesforce changed the name of this certification on 24 July 2026. What used to be the Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant is now the Salesforce Certified Agentforce Service Consultant. Salesforce says the reason is to align certification names with its current product names.
The change is a name only. Salesforce states that it does not affect the underlying exam content or the annual maintenance requirements, and that the new product names appear wherever the old ones did, including in exam guides and exam questions.
If you are already a certified Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant, you do not need to re-earn anything: Salesforce confirms that your certification stays valid under the new name and your Trailblazer profile updates automatically.
Salesforce’s FAQ also covers the practical side. Employers who verify your status see the new certification name together with your original earned date, provided you have opted in to verification, and partners’ Partner Navigator scores update automatically. You can request an updated certificate and download a new logo from your Trailblazer profile.

What is the Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant certification?
It is Salesforce’s consultant-level credential for customer service implementations. According to the exam guide, the typical candidate has 2 to 5 years of professional experience and designs and implements solutions that support business processes and requirements.
The exam is about consulting judgement as much as configuration: industry knowledge, implementation strategy, solution design, knowledge management, channels, case management, contact center analytics and integrations. With the new name, the outline’s design section is called Agentforce Service Solution Design and carries the largest weight, 15%.

How much does the Service Cloud Consultant certification cost?
The exam guide lists a registration fee of US$200 (JPY 30,000), plus applicable taxes as required by local law. A retake costs US$100 (JPY 15,000), plus taxes.
Before you can take it you need the Salesforce Platform Administrator certification, which is a separate exam with its own fee.

Exam format and passing score
The test has 60 multiple-choice questions plus up to five unscored questions that do not count towards your result. You have 105 minutes.
To pass you need 78%. The exam guide gives the same figure for the English and the Japanese version. Aim comfortably above it in practice before you book.
The exam is proctored, onsite at a testing center or online, and no hard-copy or online materials may be referenced. The guide states that the questions align to the Summer ’25 release.

Study and exam prep
Salesforce recommends a combination of hands-on experience, training course completion, Trailhead trails and self-study. Its official free starting point is the Trailhead trailmix “Prepare for Your Agentforce Service Consultant Certification”, which still carries the old Service Cloud Consultant name in its web address.
Plan your study around the eight sections. Because they are so even, a gap in one area — contact center analytics or integrations, say — costs as much as a gap in case management. Build and test the configuration in a real Salesforce org, then check yourself against scenario questions.

Service Cloud Consultant questions: dumps vs practice
Collections of supposed real Service Cloud Consultant questions — exam dumps — break Salesforce’s rules. The Credentialing and Certification Program Agreement prohibits sharing, using or selling exam content in any format, including content you memorise, and Salesforce states a zero-tolerance policy for exam misconduct.
Consequences listed by Salesforce include revocation of earned certifications and suspension from all certification exams for 90 days or more. Practice questions written to test the same skills in new scenarios do not carry that risk and tell you more about whether you are ready.

How do you maintain the certification?
Salesforce’s maintenance article states that all certifications require one maintenance badge per year. For the Agentforce Service Consultant, the badge is the Platform Administrator certification maintenance badge, and Salesforce says it is your responsibility to finish it by the published deadline.
Check the maintenance schedule on your Trailhead profile each cycle so the deadline does not pass unnoticed.

Salesforce does not publish a salary figure for this certification on the exam guide or credential page, and this page does not quote one from elsewhere.
What a certified Service Cloud Consultant can show is clear from the outline: the ability to design a service solution end to end, from intake channels and case management through knowledge, analytics and integrations, now including Agentforce. If that is the work you do or want to do, the exam tests it directly.
