Oracle recommends Python skills, a year of ML experience and six months on OCI. What is the OCI Data Science Professional certification?
It is Oracle University’s professional-level certification for machine learning on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Oracle groups it under its artificial intelligence certifications, alongside OCI Generative AI Professional, and the course behind it covers the full machine learning lifecycle on the OCI Data Science service.
The target candidate is a practitioner, not a beginner. Oracle’s 2025 learning path lists proficiency in Python for data science and machine learning, knowledge of the common open-source data science libraries, at least one year of ML experience and at least six months of hands-on experience with OCI.
If you are new to both machine learning and Oracle’s cloud, Oracle’s own advice is to start with the OCI AI Foundations course and certification and come back to Data Science Professional afterwards.

Which OCI Data Science Professional exam is current in 2026?
Oracle’s exam catalogue lists a 1Z0-1110-26 exam page titled simply Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Science Professional — without a year, in line with Oracle’s 2026 decision to drop the calendar year from certification titles and logos. The page loads only with JavaScript and could not be read for this guide.
The older training is being retired. Oracle MyLearn shows that the learning path Become An OCI Data Science Professional was scheduled for archiving on 8 August 2026, and that the 2025 learning path and the 2025 course were scheduled for archiving on 30 September 2026. With the 2026 update, Professional-level courses also moved to paid access.
If you studied for the 2024 or 2025 exam, compare your material with the current exam page before you book, because Oracle refreshes the content with each version.

OCI Data Science Professional exam format and passing score
Oracle publishes the format, the number of questions, the duration and the passing score on the exam page in its education catalogue. That page could not be loaded on 14 October 2026, and none of Oracle’s announcement posts for this certification state those figures in text form — the 2023 and 2024 posts show the exam objectives only as an image.
This page therefore does not give a question count, a time limit or a passing percentage for the Data Science Professional exam. Figures you find quoted elsewhere do not come from a source that could be checked here; read them off the official exam page when you register.
Oracle does offer an official practice exam in MyLearn, which it says is designed to closely replicate the format and content of the actual certification exam. That is the most reliable way to see the format before exam day.

How much does the OCI Data Science Professional exam cost?
No Oracle source that loaded on 14 October 2026 states the current price of the 1Z0-1110-26 exam. Oracle’s August 2025 article on certification costs lists OCI Data Science Professional under its AI certifications, but the US$245 figure in that article is stated for the core Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications, so it is not applied to this exam here.
For history only: when Oracle announced the 2024 version, it said it was waiving the certification exam fee of $245 between 22 April and 31 July 2024. That promotion has ended. Since the 2026 update, Oracle’s Professional courses require paid access, so budget for the course as well as the exam.

What is on the OCI Data Science Professional exam?
Oracle’s exam objectives with their weightings appear only as an image in its announcements. The learning outcomes Oracle lists in text form describe what the course and exam are built around:

- Configure and manage OCI Data Science workspaces and projects
- Use the Accelerated Data Science (ADS) SDK to streamline data science processes
- Implement the end-to-end ML lifecycle: data preparation, model training, evaluation and deployment
- Apply MLOps practices to automate and monitor machine learning workflows
- Integrate with OCI Vault, Object Storage, Generative AI, Data Flow and Data Labeling

OCI Data Science Professional prerequisites and recommended experience
Oracle does not list a mandatory prerequisite certification in any source that loaded. What it does describe is the expected background: Python for data science and machine learning, familiarity with open-source data science and ML libraries, a year or more of ML experience and six months or more of hands-on OCI experience.
Oracle adds that candidates with some experience in machine learning and deep learning who are proficient in Python can go straight into the Data Science Professional course, while those starting from scratch should take OCI AI Foundations first.
The two halves matter equally. A strong data scientist who has never used OCI will struggle with the service-specific questions, and an OCI administrator without ML experience will struggle with model evaluation and MLOps.

Official OCI Data Science Professional study materials
Oracle’s preparation route is the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Science Professional course inside the learning path, with hands-on labs and an official practice exam in MyLearn. Since the 2026 update, Professional courses require paid access.
Because the 2025 course and learning path were marked for archiving on 30 September 2026, check that you are enrolled in the current version. Beyond the course, the OCI Data Science documentation and the ADS SDK documentation are the primary references for the services the exam covers.

How long is the OCI Data Science Professional certification valid?
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications are valid for 24 months from the date the credential is earned. Oracle states this in its Certification Program Guidelines and repeats it in the 2026 update announcement.
With the year gone from certification titles, the expiry date on your credential is the date to plan around. Machine learning services on OCI change quickly, so recertifying close to that date also keeps your knowledge in line with the current exam.

OCI Data Science Professional exam dumps and Oracle’s fraud policy
Oracle’s Certification Program Guidelines state that any contribution to, use of, or sharing of materials pertaining to Oracle certification exams — Oracle uses the term brain dumps — is a violation of its Fraudulent Activity Policy. Candidates are responsible for checking that their preparation materials are legitimate.
The sanctions are serious: decertification, a temporary, indefinite or permanent ban, and forfeiting all fees paid to Oracle. A dump also teaches nothing about building or deploying a model, which is what the credential is supposed to show.
