Salesforce Advanced Administrator certification, now Platform Administrator II
The Salesforce Advanced Administrator certification is now called Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator II. The exam has 60 scored questions plus up to five unscored ones, takes 105 minutes, needs 65% to pass and costs US$200 (retake US$100), proctored online or at a test center. You must already hold Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator.

Salesforce Advanced Administrator is now Platform Administrator II
If you search for the Salesforce Advanced Admin certification, you land on a credential with a different name. Salesforce now lists it as Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator II. Its official Trailhead credential page still sits at the old “advancedadministrator” address, and Salesforce’s own preparation trailmix keeps “advanced administrator” in its address too.
The pages we checked do not give a date for the name change. What matters for candidates: the exam you book today is the Platform Administrator II exam, and the facts on this page come from its current exam guide.

What is the Salesforce Advanced Administrator certification?
It is the second step of Salesforce’s administrator track. Salesforce describes holders as seasoned Salesforce Administrators who can harness the power of advanced features and functionality.
The exam guide is explicit about the audience: someone with significant experience performing as a Salesforce Administrator, who already holds the Platform Administrator certification. It is not where you start; the first administrator cert comes first.

How much does the Salesforce Advanced Administrator exam cost?
Salesforce’s exam guide lists a registration fee of US$200 (JPY 30,000), plus applicable taxes as required by local law. A retake costs US$100 (JPY 15,000), plus taxes.
Training is separate. Salesforce’s own Trailhead Academy course for this exam, Administer, Extend, and Automate Salesforce (ADX211), is named in the exam guide; Salesforce does not print its price there.

Exam format and passing score
The exam has 60 multiple-choice and multiple-select questions, plus up to five unscored questions that do not count towards your score. You have 105 minutes — under two minutes per question including the unscored ones.
The passing score is 65%. Unlike many vendors, Salesforce publishes it in the exam guide.
The exam is proctored, either onsite at a testing center or online, and no hard-copy or online materials may be referenced during it.

What is on the exam?
Salesforce publishes seven sections with weights. Security and access and process automation carry 20% each, so 40% of the exam sits in those two areas; environment management and deployment is the smallest at 7%.
Objects and applications follows closely at 19%, which means three sections alone account for almost 60% of the questions. The remaining four — data and analytics management, cloud applications, auditing and monitoring, and environment management — still add up to more than 40%, so none of them can be skipped if you want a comfortable margin over 65%.

Prerequisite and experience
The only formal prerequisite is the Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator certification. Salesforce does not set a minimum number of years, but the exam guide describes the candidate as someone with significant experience as a Salesforce Administrator who has completed the ADX211 course.
In practice that means hands-on time with sharing and security models, automation, data management and deployments in real orgs, because the questions are written around those situations.

Training, study and practice
Salesforce recommends a combination of hands-on experience, training course completion and self-study. The official training course is Administer, Extend, and Automate Salesforce (ADX211) from Trailhead Academy, and the free option is the Trailhead trailmix “Prepare for your Salesforce Platform Administrator II Certification”.
Build your study plan on the seven weighted sections: security and access and process automation first, because together they are 40% of the questions. Practise the configuration in a real Salesforce org rather than only reading about it.

Salesforce Advanced Administrator dumps
Exam dumps — collections of what claim to be real exam questions — break Salesforce’s rules. The Credentialing and Certification Program Agreement prohibits sharing, using or selling exam content in any format, including content you memorise, and Salesforce states a zero-tolerance policy for exam misconduct.
The listed consequences include revocation of earned certifications and suspension from all certification exams for 90 days or more. Practice questions that test the same skills in new scenarios are a different thing and carry no such risk.

Maintenance, salary and value
Salesforce certifications must be maintained. Salesforce’s maintenance article says all certifications require one maintenance badge per year and that Platform Administrator II is kept current with the Platform Administrator maintenance badge; the exam guide still mentions three times a year, so follow the schedule shown on your Trailhead profile.
One detail is easy to miss: Salesforce states that the entry-level Platform Administrator certification maintains Platform Administrator II. In practice you keep both current with the same Platform Administrator maintenance badge, and Salesforce makes it your responsibility to complete it by the published deadline.
Salesforce does not publish a Salesforce Advanced Administrator salary figure on the credential page or in the exam guide, and this page does not quote one from elsewhere. The value is in what the exam checks: that you can run a complex org — security, automation, data and deployments — beyond the basics of the first administrator certification.
