Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Developer is Salesforce’s cert for full-stack developers on B2C Commerce. The exam has 60 multiple-choice questions plus up to five unscored ones in 105 minutes, you need 65% to pass, and it costs US$200 (retake US$100). There is no prerequisite, and you keep it with one maintenance badge a year.

What is the Salesforce B2C Commerce Developer certification?
Salesforce describes certified B2C Commerce Developers as having experience as full-stack developers for Salesforce B2C Commerce. The exam guide targets ecommerce developers and lists roles such as front-end developer, full-stack developer, software developer, Java or JavaScript programmer, web application developer and support engineer.
The cert is aimed at people who already build on the platform. Salesforce recommends at least one year of developer experience plus three to six months in a B2C Commerce developer role before you sit the exam.
The certification is active and is not among the 24 certifications Salesforce retires on 1 February 2027. That list does include the B2C Commerce Architect, the credential that builds on this one — see below.

How much does the B2C Commerce Developer exam cost?
The registration fee is US$200 (JPY 30,000), plus taxes as required by local law. A retake costs US$100 (JPY 15,000), plus taxes.
The exam guide recommends Trailhead Academy courses but does not list their prices; those are booked separately. The Trailhead trails and Trailmix it names are self-study content on Trailhead.

B2C Commerce Developer exam format and passing score
The exam has 60 multiple-choice questions and up to five unscored questions, which do not affect your result. You have 105 minutes and need 65% to pass.
It is proctored, either onsite at a testing center or online. No hard-copy or online materials may be referenced, and you accept Salesforce’s Certification Program Agreement and Code of Conduct at the start of each exam.
Note the version line: Salesforce states that exam questions align to the Spring ’23 release. Study current documentation, but expect questions written against that release.

What is on the B2C Commerce Developer exam?
The outline has four sections, and one dominates: application development carries 53% — more than the other three combined. It covers ISML templates, JavaScript controllers with models, decorators and helpers, Page Designer page types and components, forms with CSRF protection, localisation, logging, hooks, service integrations, OCAPI Shop and Data APIs, and scheduled jobs.
Data management in Business Manager is the second block at 24%: search configuration, logging, extending system objects, custom objects, caching and profilers, and OCAPI permissions. Setup — IDE, WebDAV cartridge deployment, cartridge path order and site configuration — and working with a site — catalogue, inventory, pricebooks, payment, shipping and content — make up the rest.

B2C Commerce Developer training and study resources
Salesforce recommends two Trailhead Academy courses: B2C Commerce Developer with SFRA (CCD102) and Manage and Merchandise a B2C Commerce Store (CCM101).
For self-study, the exam guide points to the B2C Commerce documentation on Salesforce Help, the Introduction to Business Manager Trailmix, and three Trailhead trails: Develop for Salesforce B2C Commerce, Build Your Ecommerce Site with B2C Commerce, and B2C Commerce Basics.
With 53% of the exam on application development, the most valuable preparation is hands-on work in a sandbox: building controllers and ISML templates, extending cartridges in the right cartridge path order, and calling OCAPI.

B2C Commerce Developer prerequisites
There is no formal prerequisite: you can book the exam without holding any other Salesforce certification.
Salesforce’s stated experience level — a minimum of one year of developer experience plus three to six months in a B2C Commerce developer role — is a recommendation, not a gate. It is still a realistic benchmark for an exam where more than half the questions are about writing and debugging code.

B2C Commerce Developer certification maintenance
To keep the certification, you complete the Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Developer maintenance badge on Trailhead once a year.
Salesforce’s maintenance schedule states that all certifications require one maintenance badge per year and that certifications expire if maintenance is not completed by the assigned deadline. Check your due date in your Trailhead account.

B2C Commerce Developer exam dumps
Salesforce’s Credentialing and Certification Program Agreement and Code of Conduct prohibits sharing, using or selling exam content in any format, including content you have memorised.
Listed sanctions include suspension from all certification exams for 90 days or more and revocation of earned certifications. A dump is therefore a risk to the credential itself, on top of being an unreliable way to learn a code-heavy exam.

B2C Commerce Developer vs B2C Commerce Architect
The B2C Commerce Architect required the B2C Commerce Developer certification as a prerequisite and cost US$400. Salesforce is retiring it: the last day to register was 24 July 2026, the last day to take the exam was 31 August 2026, and the certification retires on 1 February 2027.
The Developer cert itself is unaffected and stays bookable. Salesforce publishes no salary data for it, so this page gives no salary figure.
