UiPath Automation Solution Architect Professional certification
The UiPath Automation Solution Architect Professional is UiPath’s professional-level certification for designing, implementing and scaling enterprise automation solutions. The exam costs US$300 plus tax per attempt, is taken at a Pearson VUE test centre or online via OnVUE in English or Japanese, and the certification is valid for three years. UiPath puts the question count, time limit and passing score in its Exam Description Document, not on its web pages.

What is the UiPath Solution Architect certification?
The full name is UiPath Certified Professional Automation Solution Architect Professional. UiPath describes it as demonstrating advanced expertise in automation architecture, enterprise technology stacks and end-to-end business process automation, and as validating both strategic thinking and hands-on skills needed to design, implement and scale complex automation solutions across the enterprise.
UiPath Academy is specific about the candidate it has in mind: someone expected to have extensive knowledge of the architecture and technology stack of automation, hands-on experience automating complex business processes, and an advanced level of expertise in the UiPath Automation Implementation Methodology. It names Advanced Automation Developers, Solution Architects and Automation Architects as suitable roles.
The cert is active. It is listed among UiPath’s current certifications on both uipath.com and UiPath Academy, with no retirement notice.

How much does the UiPath Solution Architect exam cost?
UiPath’s FAQ states that the fee for a Professional-level exam is US$300 plus tax per attempt. The fee is per attempt, so a retake is charged again.
The official practice test is free, and UiPath Academy learning plans are a separate matter from the exam fee; UiPath states you can prepare through UiPath Academy or other training sources.

UiPath Solution Architect exam format
UiPath Certified Professional exams are delivered by Pearson VUE, either at a test centre or remotely at your own location through OnVUE. All UiPath exams are in English, and they are also available in Japanese.
UiPath lists three question types for its professional exams: multiple choice, drag and drop, and simulation-based. Simulation items mean that knowing the names of platform components is not enough; you need to know where things are configured.
At the end of the exam you receive a provisional score report with your score and a pass or fail grade. UiPath notes that the pass/fail result has no correlation to how you performed in each section, so the report is not a reliable map of your weak areas.

How many questions are on the exam, and what is the passing score?
UiPath publishes the number of questions, the time limit, the passing score and the topic weighting in the Exam Description Document (version 1.0) linked from UiPath Academy, not on its web pages. What does the UiPath Solution Architect exam cover?
The official learning plan shows how wide the scope is. Rather than one product, it walks through the components of the UiPath Platform that an architect has to fit together:

UiPath Solution Architect training
UiPath Academy’s official preparation is the Automation Solution Architect Training learning plan, currently version 2024.10, which UiPath says offers thorough preparation for the certification. Its description is to learn to design and deliver effective automation solutions.
Plan generously. The learning plan states two different completion times on the same page, so we give no single figure; either way it is a multi-week effort rather than a weekend. The plan also ends with its own Automation Solution Architect Training Assessment, which is a learning check, not the certification exam.
Training is not a formal requirement, but the exam assumes the breadth the plan covers. Since UiPath notes that some exams have mandatory prerequisites, check the exam description before you buy a voucher.

Prerequisites and recommended experience
UiPath’s web pages list no mandatory prerequisite for this certification, but the FAQ warns that some exams have mandatory prerequisites and asks candidates to review the exam description carefully.
In practice, the expected profile is senior: extensive knowledge of automation architecture and technology stacks, hands-on experience with complex business processes, and advanced knowledge of the UiPath Automation Implementation Methodology. If your experience is mainly building individual workflows, the Automation Developer Professional is the closer match.

Retakes and validity
If you fail the first attempt, UiPath requires a two-week wait before you can take the exam again; for every later attempt, the wait is one month. Each attempt is charged at the full fee.
UiPath Certified Professional certifications have a three-year validity period, and UiPath expects certified professionals to recertify every three years to keep pace with technology updates.

Solution Architect vs Automation Developer Professional
Both are UiPath professional-level certifications, but they test different jobs. UiPath describes the Automation Developer Professional as validating advanced skills in AI and UiPath core automation tools — building robust automations. The Solution Architect Professional is about the layer above: architecture, enterprise technology stacks and scaling automation across the enterprise, including discovery, operations and governance components.
Developers who already hold the Automation Developer Professional and now design whole programmes rather than single processes are the natural candidates for the Solution Architect exam.

UiPath Solution Architect salary
UiPath does not publish salary data for certified Solution Architects, so this page quotes no salary figure. UiPath does name the roles it targets: advanced automation developers, solution architects and automation architects.
