CCNA cost: exam fee, vouchers and the full budget
Cisco publishes the price, which makes this simpler than for most certifications: the CCNA 200-301 exam costs $US300, or you can pay with Cisco Learning Credits. This page sets out what that fee covers, how vouchers work, what a retake or training adds, and what renewal costs three years later.

How much is the CCNA exam?
Cisco’s CCNA page states it plainly: “Cost: $US300, or use Cisco Learning Credits.” That is the Cisco CCNA exam cost for the single exam you need — Implementing and Administering Cisco Solutions (200-301 CCNA) v1.1. There is no second paper and no separate certification fee, so the CCNA 200-301 exam cost is also the cost of the certification itself if you pass first time.
The fee buys one 120-minute attempt, graded pass/fail, with results online typically within 48 hours. Cisco lists no prerequisites, so you do not pay for an earlier exam or a mandatory course before you can book.

CCNA certification exam price outside the US
Cisco quotes the CCNA certification exam price in US dollars. Its exam policies add that exams can be scheduled up to six months in advance and that “prices may change without notice”, so the figure that binds you is the one shown when you book with Pearson VUE. Local taxes may apply on top. If you are checking how much is Cisco CCNA exam registration in your own currency, the booking screen is the only reliable answer.
Cisco Learning Credits are the second way to pay. Cisco’s exam policies value one credit at US$100, which is why the CCNA fee is often expressed as three credits. Learning Credits are usually bought by employers, so ask before paying out of your own pocket.

CCNA exam voucher: how vouchers work
A CCNA voucher is a prepaid code you redeem when you book instead of paying by card. Cisco sells associate-level exam vouchers that cover the CCNA for $300, valid for 365 days from the date of purchase. So the CCNA voucher price matches the exam fee: a voucher changes when and how you pay, not how much.
That makes a Cisco CCNA exam voucher useful in two situations — when an employer pays in advance, or when you want to lock in the purchase now and schedule later within the year. Cisco’s policies state that a voucher is redeemed once the code is entered and that no refund is issued once payment has been made and the invoice generated.
- Where to buy CCNA exam voucher codes: Cisco itself or Pearson VUE, Cisco’s authorised test delivery partner. Cisco states it will not compensate candidates for fraudulent vouchers or vouchers obtained from an unauthorised source.
- Pearson VUE CCNA voucher codes are redeemed in the same booking flow you use to schedule the exam.
- If a voucher does not cover the full amount, Cisco’s policies say the remaining taxes must be paid in the same transaction.

Is there a CCNA discount voucher?
Cisco’s CCNA page, checked 9 October 2026, lists no public discount on the exam fee itself. Offers you see advertised as a CCNA voucher discount usually come from resellers, and here Cisco’s exam policies are blunt: neither Cisco nor Pearson VUE guarantees discount vouchers bought from other individuals or companies, and candidates who use fraudulent vouchers or promotional codes “may risk up to and including a lifetime ban on all future exams”.
So before you buy any CCNA exam discount voucher, ask who issued it. If the answer is not Cisco or Pearson VUE, the saving is not worth the risk to your Cisco record.

What a retake costs
If you fail, the next attempt is a new booking at the full fee. Cisco requires you to wait five calendar days, beginning the day after the failed attempt, before you can retest for the same exam.
Cisco also lists Exam Safeguard Plus at $450 USD, which it describes as offering “a second chance at exam success” if you do not pass first time. That is the closest thing to a CCNA retake voucher Cisco sells. Whether it pays off depends on how confident you are going in: it costs $150 more than a single attempt and less than two full attempts. Check its conditions, including the time window for the second attempt, on Cisco’s page before you buy, and decide up front how much CCNA exam cost you are prepared to risk on a retry.

CCNA course fees and training costs
Training is optional — Cisco sets no course requirement — but it is often the larger part of the budget, and the fees for CCNA course options range from free to whatever a provider charges. Cisco’s CCNA page lists several official routes, and only one of them is described as free:

- Cisco U.: guided learning paths and hands-on practice; Cisco’s CCNA page names no price.

Bootcamps: what to look for before you pay
Because the CCNA boot camp cost is set by each provider, there is no single figure to quote. Ask instead what the price includes. A bootcamp that bundles the $US300 exam fee is comparing like with like; one that does not is really a course fee plus a CCNA exam fee you still have to pay.
Useful questions when comparing a CCNA bootcamp cost: is the provider a Cisco Learning Partner, does the course follow the current 200-301 v1.1 exam topics, is lab time included, and is there anything for a second attempt if you fail? The answers matter more than the headline price.

How much does CCNA certification cost over three years?
The certification is valid for three years. To keep it, Cisco lets you pass the current CCNA exam again, pass a higher-level Cisco exam, or earn 30 continuing education credits through approved training, webinars or courses. If you recertify by exam, budget the same fee again; if you recertify by CE credits, the cost depends on the training you choose.
Put together, a realistic budget is the exam fee, any training you choose, a possible retake, and recertification three years later. Knowing how much cost CCNA exam candidates face beyond the fee itself is what keeps the total from surprising you.
