Is MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect – Level 1 still available?
Yes, under a new name. The certification now runs through Salesforce’s credential programme and is listed as Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Platform Architect. The old MuleSoft training address for the Level 1 exam now redirects to Trailhead Academy.
It is not being retired. Salesforce’s certification overview names 24 certifications that retire on 1 February 2027; among the MuleSoft credentials, only the Catalyst Consultant and Hyperautomation Developer carry that note. The Platform Architect has no retirement notice.
Salesforce does not publish a date for the rename. If you search for the Level 1 name, the exam you will book today is the one described on this page.

What is the MuleSoft Platform Architect certification?
Salesforce describes certified MuleSoft Platform Architects as people with proven knowledge and skills to define, and be responsible for, an organisation’s Anypoint Platform strategy. The exam guide names Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects as the target roles.
The focus is the application network as a whole: how APIs are layered, governed, deployed, secured for quality goals and monitored across an organisation — not how a single Mule application is coded.

MuleSoft Platform Architect exam cost
The registration fee is US$400 (JPY 60,000), plus applicable taxes. A retake costs US$200 (JPY 30,000), plus taxes.
Salesforce does not list a bundled training price in the exam guide. The recommended course is Anypoint Platform Architecture: Application Networks (ARC720) through Trailhead Academy, priced separately.

MuleSoft Platform Architect exam format and passing score
The exam has 60 multiple-choice questions plus up to five non-scored questions, mixed in at random. You have 120 minutes, and Salesforce notes that this time already allows for the unscored items.
The passing score is 70%. The exam is proctored, either onsite at a testing center or online, and no hard-copy or online materials may be referenced.
Exam questions align to the Spring ’24 release of the platform, so study current Anypoint Platform documentation but expect the exam to reflect that release.

Prerequisites and recommended training
There is no formal prerequisite. You can book the exam without holding the MuleSoft Developer certification.
Salesforce recommends the Trailhead Academy course Anypoint Platform Architecture: Application Networks (ARC720). The exam guide names Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects as the audience, so plan on hands-on time with API design, governance policies and CloudHub deployment alongside the course.

Does the MuleSoft Platform Architect certification need maintenance?
Salesforce’s own pages disagree. The exam guide states that there is no required maintenance for the certification at this time.
The Salesforce Certification Maintenance Schedule, however, says maintenance is available for the MuleSoft Platform Architect with the Summer ’25 cycle, lists a Summer ’26 MuleSoft Platform Architect badge with a due date of 20 August 2027, and states that certifications expire if maintenance is not completed by the deadline. Trailhead also offers a Summer ’26 maintenance module that says it keeps your certification current.
Until Salesforce aligns the two, check the maintenance status in your Trailhead account and complete the badge if it is assigned to you — it is the safer choice.

MuleSoft Platform Architect dumps
Salesforce’s Credentialing and Certification Program Agreement and Code of Conduct prohibits sharing, using or selling exam content in any format, including content you memorise, and covers content shared online or on unauthorised study sites.
Listed consequences include suspension from all certification exams for 90 days or more and revocation of earned certifications. Dumps are a breach of that agreement, not a study method.

MuleSoft Platform Architect vs Platform Integration Architect
Salesforce runs two MuleSoft architect certifications with the same format: 60 questions, 120 minutes, 70% to pass and US$400. The Platform Integration Architect is aimed at people with experience leading Anypoint Platform implementations and recommends the ARC730 course on integration solutions.
The Platform Architect looks at the platform and the application network across the organisation — governance, API layers, deployment and monitoring. The Platform Integration Architect looks at designing individual integration solutions for persistence, reliability, performance and security. Choose by whether you own the platform or design what runs on it.
