What is the Salesforce Business Analyst certification?
The Salesforce Certified Business Analyst credential is Salesforce’s certification for business analysts who work on the Salesforce Platform. Salesforce describes certified business analysts as people who understand business needs, capture requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to shape Salesforce solutions.
It is not a Salesforce admin or developer cert. The exam tests business analysis skills — discovery, stakeholder work, process mapping, requirements and user stories — applied to Salesforce projects. Of the Salesforce business analyst certifications people ask about, this is the one Salesforce itself issues for the role.

Salesforce Business Analyst certification exam format
The Salesforce Business Analyst exam has 60 multiple-choice questions plus up to five unscored questions, and you have 105 minutes. It is proctored, either onsite at a testing centre or in an online environment, and no hard-copy or online materials may be referenced during the exam.
To pass you need 72%. Since the unscored questions are not marked, treat every question as if it counts. Salesforce’s exam guide states that the questions align to the Winter ’25 release.

Salesforce Business Analyst exam guide: what is on the exam
The official Salesforce Business Analyst exam guide splits the exam into six sections. Collaboration with stakeholders carries the most weight; requirements and user stories together are more than a third of the exam:

Salesforce Business Analyst certification cost
Salesforce publishes the fees in its exam guide: a registration fee of US$200 and a retake fee of US$100, each plus applicable taxes as required by local law. The guide also lists them as JPY 30,000 and JPY 15,000.
Ongoing, there is no renewal fee in the exam guide: you keep the credential by completing the annual maintenance badge on Trailhead. Training is the variable cost — free Trailhead material on one end, paid instructor-led courses on the other.

Requirements and recommended experience
Formally, there is no prerequisite: the exam guide lists none, and you do not need another Salesforce credential first. Salesforce does describe the candidate it has in mind: someone with two years of business analyst experience, including demonstrated success owning and delivering business process improvements, and two years of Salesforce Platform experience.
If you are a business analyst new to Salesforce, or a Salesforce admin new to business analysis, the outline shows where your gap is: platform knowledge runs through every section, while customer discovery, stakeholder collaboration and user stories are pure BA craft.

Exam dumps and the Salesforce code of conduct
Salesforce treats all exam questions and answers as its property and prohibits sharing, using or selling exam content in any format, including content someone has memorised. It states a zero-tolerance policy for exam misconduct.
The listed consequences include revocation of earned certifications, suspension from all certification exams for 90 days or more, and removal from Salesforce’s credential programmes. A dump that claims to show the real exam therefore puts every Salesforce credential you hold at risk.

Salesforce Business Analyst vs Platform Administrator
The two exams look alike on paper: both have 60 multiple-choice questions plus up to five unscored, 105 minutes and a US$200 fee. The difference is the bar and the profile. The Platform Administrator exam needs 68% in English and recommends six months or more as an administrator; the Business Analyst exam needs 72% and recommends two years of BA plus two years of platform experience.
