Data Cloud Consultant certification: the new name is Data 360 Consultant
If you are searching for the Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant certification, you are looking for what Salesforce now calls the Salesforce Certified Data 360 Consultant. Salesforce states that Data 360 is the official new name for what was previously called Data Cloud, and the exam guide, credential page and maintenance module all use the new name.
Nothing about the role changed with the name. Salesforce describes certified Data 360 Consultants as people with experience implementing and consulting on enterprise data platforms, in a customer-facing role. If you already hold the Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant credential, note that its maintenance module now carries the Data 360 name too.

What is the Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant certification?
The Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant certification — now Data 360 Consultant — proves that you can design and implement solutions on Salesforce’s data platform: connecting and ingesting data from many sources, harmonising and unifying customer profiles, building segments and insights, and activating that data in marketing, service and AI use cases.
Salesforce says the exam is ideal for consultants who have experience implementing and consulting on Data 360, and that candidates typically have backgrounds in Salesforce administration, strategy or business analysis. Salesforce does not set a minimum number of years.

Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant exam format
The Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant exam, under its current name, has 60 multiple-choice questions plus up to five unscored questions, which you cannot tell apart from the scored ones. You get 105 minutes, and the passing score is 70%. The current exam guide states that the questions align to the Spring ’26 release.
It is a proctored exam, taken onsite at a testing center or in an online environment. No hard-copy or online materials may be referenced during the exam, so this is a closed-book test.
To pass you need 42 of the 60 scored questions right. That leaves room for 18 misses — but they have to be spread thinly, because no single domain is small enough to skip.
- Questions: 60 scored, plus up to 5 unscored
- Time: 105 minutes
- Passing score: 70%
- Delivery: proctored, onsite or online

How much does the Data 360 Consultant exam cost?
Salesforce lists a registration fee of US$200 (JPY 30,000) and a retake fee of US$100 (JPY 15,000), both plus applicable taxes as required by local law. There is no separate application fee and no prerequisite certification to buy first.
After you pass, keeping the certification costs time rather than money in Salesforce’s exam guide: an annual maintenance module on Trailhead.

What is on the exam? Data 360 Consultant outline
Salesforce publishes six sections with weightings. Activation carries the most at 20%, but the spread is even: the smallest section still carries 13%.
- Data Activations and Utilization — 20%: segmentation, managing segments, publishing activations, using Data 360 in flows
- Data Source Connection and Ingestion — 18%: transforming and ingesting data from varied sources, Zero-Copy features
- Data Enhancements, Sharing, and Analysis — 18%: enriching data, insights, reports and dashboards, AI capabilities
- Harmonization and Unification — 17%: the purpose and process of unification, data modelling
- Solution Positioning — 14%: business value, use cases, Data 360’s role in AI, data ethics and governance
- Data 360 Setup and Administration — 13%: permissions, settings, development lifecycle, troubleshooting

How to study and prep for the Data Cloud Consultant exam
Salesforce highly recommends a combination of on-the-job experience and self-study. For the self-study part, its exam guide points to the Trailhead trail “Prepare for your Salesforce Data 360 Consultant Exam”, the Data 360 Learning Journey, and two Trailhead Academy courses: SDC101 (Discover Salesforce Data 360 Fundamentals) and SDC301 (Design and Build Effective Solutions with Data 360).
Study material written before the rename still uses “Data Cloud”, and that is fine for concepts, but check it against the current outline: the exam guide aligns questions to the Spring ’26 release, so features and names that changed since then are what the exam tests.
A practical sequence: work through the trail section by section, build a small ingestion-to-activation flow in a Data 360 org if you have access, then practise with timed, scenario-based questions until you are clearly above 70% in every section.

Data Cloud Consultant dumps
Data Cloud consultant dumps — files that claim to be the real exam questions — break Salesforce’s rules. The Credentialing and Certification Program Agreement prohibits sharing, using or selling exam content in any format, including content you memorise, and states that all questions and answers are Salesforce’s property. In a July 2025 post Salesforce reminded candidates that they agree not to distribute, use or request exam dumps.
The sanctions listed include revocation of earned certifications, suspension from all certification exams for 90 days or more, and removal from Salesforce’s credentialing programmes. The agreement speaks of revoking earned certifications in the plural, so the risk is not limited to this one exam.

How do you maintain the certification?
Salesforce requires holders to complete the Data 360 Consultant certification maintenance module on Trailhead once a year. If you miss the due date, the certification expires.
The modules follow Salesforce’s releases — for example the Winter ’26 maintenance module — and each one has its own completion deadline shown on Trailhead.

Is the Data 360 Consultant certification worth it? Salary
Salesforce does not publish salary figures for the Data 360 Consultant certification, so we do not quote one. What Salesforce does show is the profile it certifies: a customer-facing consultant who implements its data platform, a product Salesforce describes as the real-time data engine that powers the entire Salesforce platform.
The cost side is clear: US$200 for the exam, US$100 per retake, and a yearly maintenance module. If your work already involves Data 360 implementations, the certification documents a skill you are using; without hands-on experience, the 70% bar across six evenly weighted sections is hard to reach from reading alone.

Certsqill’s Data 360 Consultant practice questions are expert-developed and aligned to the six sections: every question explains each answer option, and a readiness score per section shows whether you are clear of 70% everywhere before you pay for an attempt.
