SAP Analytics Cloud certification: the C_SAC Data Analyst exam

What is the SAP Analytics Cloud certification?

SAP’s certification for SAP Analytics Cloud is called SAP Certified - Data Analyst - SAP Analytics Cloud, exam code C_SAC. SAP says it verifies that you have the fundamental and core knowledge required for the SAP Analytics Cloud Data Analyst profile, and that you have the overall understanding and technical skills to contribute as a member of a project team.

The role behind it is the data analyst who works in SAP Analytics Cloud day to day. SAP’s learning journey for the certification describes the scope as creating models and stories, analysing data and performing planning in SAP Analytics Cloud.

One naming detail: SAP has dropped “Associate” from the title, although the address of the certification page still contains it. If you see the cert referred to as an associate-level credential, it is the same exam.

SAP Analytics Cloud certification exam format: a scenario-based assessment

C_SAC consists of one activity, listed by SAP as a Scenario Based Assessment, with a duration of 2 hours. Instead of answering theoretical questions, you demonstrate that you can perform real-world tasks.

SAP’s help center describes two ways to complete a scenario-based assessment. In the first, you take part in a timeboxed roleplay with an AI avatar. If you do not want to use the AI-based tool, you can upload a video for manual review instead; SAP experts score video submissions within ten business days.

Language depends on the route. The AI roleplay is offered in English, Spanish, Italian, French, Japanese and 25 further languages; the video route is English only.

The exams are open book. SAP recommends resources such as the SAP Help Portal, SAP Learning and SAP Community, and states that you can use AI support and documentation during the exam.

SAP Analytics Cloud certification pass score

The pass score for C_SAC is 60%. SAP’s help center explains the principle behind it: you need to reach a predefined score in the given timeframe to become certified, and results are based on successfully completing defined tasks.

For roleplay assessments, SAP says an AI model may assist in assessing the accuracy, completeness and efficiency of your responses; video submissions are scored by SAP experts. Either way, the score reflects what you do in the scenario, not how many options you tick correctly.

Is the multiple-choice SAP Analytics Cloud exam still available?

For C_SAC, SAP lists only the scenario-based assessment. SAP is moving its certification portfolio from multiple-choice exams to practical formats, and its help center states that most roles will transition throughout 2026. Once a role has transitioned, the multiple-choice exam for it is no longer available.

If you prepared with older material written for a multiple-choice SAP Analytics Cloud exam, the knowledge still helps, but the way it is tested has changed. Practise explaining and applying what you know, because that is what the scenario asks for.

Existing exam attempts are not affected: SAP states that attempts can be used on any available platform and that the allocation stays the same.

How much does the SAP Analytics Cloud certification cost?

SAP sells certification attempts mainly through the SAP Learning Hub. The subscription costs US$1,452 per user per year and includes four SAP Certification exam attempts per year. The C_SAC page requires a Learning Hub subscription that includes exam attempts, and each exam attempt counts as one attempt from your subscription.

SAP also states that you can buy individual certification exam attempts. The Learning Hub page does not show their price, and SAP’s own help pages describe the bundle sizes differently, so check the current offer in the SAP Learning shop before you buy.

What does the SAP Analytics Cloud certification cover?

SAP does not publish topic weightings for C_SAC. The certification page tags it with the role Data Analyst and the skills Data Visualization, Business Planning, Data Modeling and Data Analysis.

The learning journey fills in what those skills mean in the product: building models, creating stories, analysing data and performing planning in SAP Analytics Cloud. Planning is part of the scope — this is not purely a dashboarding cert.

SAP Analytics Cloud certification prerequisites and preparation

There are no formal prerequisites: SAP’s learning journey lists none. To actually sit the exam you need a Learning Hub subscription with exam attempts and a valid SAP Universal ID, and SAP asks you to run its Technical Readiness Checklist for hardware, software and connectivity beforehand.

SAP’s recommended preparation is the learning journey Becoming a Certified Data Analyst in SAP Analytics Cloud. For newcomers, SAP points to the beginner course Exploring SAP Analytics Cloud, which builds up the basic knowledge first.

Because the assessment is scenario-based, SAP also offers a try-out tool for scenario-based assessments and an introduction video. Use them before your real attempt so the format itself does not cost you time on exam day.

How long is the SAP Analytics Cloud certification valid?

SAP states that the digital badge for its practical exams remains valid for 12 months. To stay certified, you complete a short annual assessment that extends the validity of your certification by another 12 months.

That annual assessment requires an SAP Learning Hub subscription. Without one, SAP says you have to take the full practical exam again — worth factoring in when you compare the subscription with single attempts.

SAP Analytics Cloud exam dumps

With a scenario-based format there are no fixed answer options to memorise, but SAP’s Certification Exam Security Guidelines still apply. They name using brain dumps to access exam questions and distributing test questions, in breach of the non-disclosure agreement, as misconduct.

SAP reserves the right to withhold the certification status of anyone found cheating or disclosing exam questions, can delete exam results and can ban candidates from taking further SAP Certification exams.
