What is the SAP Integration Suite certification?
SAP’s certification for SAP Integration Suite is SAP Certified - Integration Developer, exam C_CPI. SAP says it validates the fundamental and core knowledge required of the SAP Integration Developer profile, and that a certified candidate has the overall understanding and in-depth technical skills to join a project team in a mentored role.
The roles and skills SAP tags it with are developer, API management, cloud application development, cloud architecture, cloud services and integration platforms. In practical terms: building integration flows, creating and managing APIs, and modelling processes in SAP Integration Suite.
You may know it under its older title. SAP now lists it as “SAP Certified - Integration Developer”, while the page address still carries the former “associate” label.

The C_CPI exam is now system-based
C_CPI is listed with the assessment type “System Based”. SAP describes system-based exams as practical tasks completed in timeboxed simulations using SAP systems. Results are based on whether defined tasks are completed and on the system outputs, reviewed automatically or via evaluation scripts.
These exams are open book: SAP says learners can use all kinds of resources to complete the tasks. That changes how you prepare. Memorising facts helps little; being able to build a working integration flow or API configuration in the time available is what counts.
SAP started offering practical exams in November 2025 and planned a further rollout from January 2026. System-based exams are currently in English only.

C_CPI exam duration and passing score
You have 3 hours, and the pass score is 90%. SAP does not publish the number of tasks or a topic weighting on the certification page.
A 90% bar is high, but it applies to a practical, open-book exam where tasks are checked against system results. The practical consequence: an integration that almost works may not score. Build the habit of testing every flow end to end before you move on.
Score reports are available for SAP certifications with a system-based assessment, under My Learnings and My Certifications in your SAP Learning account.

How much does the SAP Integration Suite certification cost?
SAP does not show a price on the C_CPI page. It says you need either a SAP Learning Hub subscription that includes certification exam attempts — four attempts per year — or an exam attempts purchase, such as SAP’s two-attempt product.
SAP’s US training shop lists the Certification Hub subscription with one exam attempt (CER001) at $236, excluding tax, with 12 months of access. That product page describes remotely proctored exams and does not say whether it covers system-based assessments like C_CPI, so confirm before you buy.
Each attempt counts, pass or fail. Learning Hub pricing is shown per user per year on SAP’s side and is not given here.

Requirements before you start
SAP lists no prerequisite certification for C_CPI. What you need is administrative and technical: a Learning Hub subscription with exam attempts or purchased attempts, a valid SAP Universal ID with a secondary email address, and a computer set up according to SAP’s Technical Readiness Checklist for hardware, software and connectivity.
Work through the checklist early. A system-based exam depends on a stable connection to SAP systems for three hours.

SAP Integration Suite training: the official learning journey
SAP recommends the learning journey “Developing with SAP Integration Suite”. SAP says that after completing it you will be able to create an API and use the required tools, processes and operations in SAP Integration Suite, manage APIs including Cloud Integration integration flows, and model processes.
The certification page also points to a practice system in the learning journey so you can build confidence before the exam. For a practical exam, that practice system is the most valuable part of the preparation: do every exercise hands-on rather than reading through it.

Attempts, validity and staying certified
SAP’s Certification Hub terms allow each exam to be taken a maximum of three times, and its Global Certification Policy says no candidate may sit the same exam for the same release more than three times.
Certificates are tied to a release. The policy states that a certificate’s validity expires no later than the date SAP ends support of the release in question. To stay certified, SAP requires stay-certified assessments to be completed before your certification expiry date; without a Learning Hub subscription, SAP says you need to retake the certification exam every year.

Exam content rules
SAP’s Global Certification Policy protects exam content by copyright: it must not be written down, copied, photographed or otherwise reproduced in whole or in part, or passed on to others. For serious infringements, all certificates awarded to the candidate are revoked and the candidate is excluded from further exams.
With a hands-on, open-book format, there is also little to memorise: the exam checks whether your configuration actually works.
